Hypocretin is responsible for regulating your bodies wake and sleep cycle, deeps sleep etc. so without it your body is unable to have a proper sleep cycle and the amount of deep sleep you get goes down by around 10% meaning you sleep all the time but are never rested. Getting up (and staying up) is an absolute nightmare and I personally can’t do it without the help of prescription drugs (Amphetamins).
