Lots of cool bands back then, the underground was absolutely awesome, the mainstream not nearly as interesting.

Still listen to The Crackdown which I bought when it first came out. Voice of America and Sheffield 78-82 followed a couple of years later with Microphones in 84/5 but never managed to get Red Mecca or Sword of. CV were my idols despite being very into goth. Of course it all makes sense now with Killing Joke and CV members merging with Ministry and all merging to create Pigface. I guess it was all great art that I was lucky enough to recognise. As the black sheep of my family I was hated and kicked out at 17. My family were all tories and I rebelled. I dont why I was the one who was consienscious but I'm glad I did but was so persecuted/ridiculed for my ear rings and dyed hair before they made me homeless. Sometimes my only company was my music so, big, big love peace and light to all my idols as they made sense out of the madness and gave my rebellion integrity. Had it not been for post punk/industrial I would have taken my life.

Freaking wow.... My daughter just shared this with me.... Instantly I liked it. Which may grow to love real soon. My fave music is Post Punk and there's so much out there I didn't get to hear back in the early 80s. Whatever I could find, I am still in love with it now 🎵💖🎶

This has to be one of the coolest fucking songs ever written. I love how Mallinder was always super content with looking dead into the camera lens. It makes it so personal.

Blew my head off when I first heard this 81. That fat synth bass heavy sound is not out of place right now. What's the aural equivalent of a visionary? 😎 These guys are it
