Forest Garden Shovelstrode - A concept combining self sufficiency with eco-tourism

This is a historical clip of our project before we started in 2010. The property has belonged to Lisa's family for almost 50 years. This clip shows paddock that Lisa used to keep her pony on before we started landscaping. This is the site that we chose to create a Forest Garden, an eco-system of companion planting within the seven canopy layers based on the principles of permaculture where we grow a variety of mainly edible plants.
Our plan is to teach people different ways of living more self sufficiently. We do this not only via teaching many different woodland craft courses, and growing a vast amount of our food, but also by offering luxury off grid 'glamping' accommodation in our traditional yurts rustic log cabins.
