    I don't normally care much for music in motorcycle videos, but your musical selections always work very well and they usually end up in my current favorites playlist. You do nice work.

      Kel Vaughan I love my africa twin. It's everything you hear from people's reviews and more. The difference is when you own one it's better because it's your experience every time you ride it.

    Great to hear their rationale for switching from GS to AT. Just finished a 1 day ride in Northern California with SierraNevadaAdventures (Mokelumne River Canyon ride in Amador County) covering about 200 miles, 75 or so on dirt. Glad I was on the 640 ADV instead of the heavier bikes, including the AT, GS and 1190s. Bike performed well despite its novice pilot. Thumpers rule!

      You know my views on the 640. Best production adventure bike ever.......ever! :)

      Dave, you made my day and confirmed my impression of this choice. Being new to off-road, I was concerned about a bike above my competence and skill level but the bike just followed wherever I pointed it, handled the rough terrain with aplomb and motored through tracks that I would've dreaded on a bigger rig. (I have a 2002 Caponord that would've left me weeping on this route, no doubt). Thanks again for your fine video productions and responses to comments. Chapeau!

    This bike seems to meet my needs, everyday commuting and the weekend adventures. Still need to try out both the 1090R and the AT. So far the AT seems to be highly customizable which is very appealing. You can make this bike your own with list of things you can add.

    • @MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV
      @MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV  7 лет назад +1

      I haven't ridden the AT yet, but everyone who has one raves about it. Having said that I've ridden the KTM Adventure R and that is an outstanding dirt oriented adventurer that would be an excellent commuter.

    • @DCCLourens
      @DCCLourens 7 лет назад

      I saw the on-road reviews for the 1090R and it does deserve a closer look to try one. Hate to say it, but living in the Netherlands, the roads are too nice for me and would love to go explore places where there are not a lot of people via off-road riding. Take the AT out for a few days like you did with the 1090R and make your analysis :) I am looking forward to that.

    First of all, great content. Watching this again, on the fence between the Super Tenere and Africa Twin. Rode both, but can't yet make up my mind. Just trying to ask myself which suits me best for the roads in the Netherlands (roads that are too good and a bit boring).

    great channel all over; what i don't understand is why no one has a honda crf 450 or a ktm 450, those eat that dirt up. those fancy african twins are good for doing 100 miles an hour on a dirt road, but not much else

    • @MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV

    I'm with you regarding the KTM single thumpers, they would be hard to beat, ....................if only someone could bullet proof these fuel pump and injector system!!

    • @MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV
      @MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV  7 лет назад +3

      We've achieved that. I've had the same fuel pump now for year. The injector system problem is overcome by a filter from Rally Raid Products. Replace the Roller rocker arms watch your wiring insulation wearing out and touching the frame and Bob's your uncle.

    • @EdVenture547
      @EdVenture547 7 лет назад

      Thank you, I do appreciate your prompt response.
      Yep, wiring shorting, poor headlight light, wheel bearing failures, and lack of a good anti theft device, I deal with ....
      but low kilometre fuel pump and/or injector failures with out warning!!!
      Prior to heading for the Fink from Perth this year we all changed our "in tank" fuel filters, $100 for the fuel filter kit from KTM. (If only a SuperCheap version to fitted)
      One particular in tank filter was almost completely blocked with "black stuff" and difficult to blow through, that bike had only done 1500kms?
      All of the in tank filters were filled with BLACK particles, where are they coming from?
      We also use fuel filler socks. I thought that this year MAYBE we had the problem nailed, ................however 600kms from home another injector failure.
      I think this "black stuff" may actually be the "black in tank fuel line" breaking down.
      I don't think the fuel we use is that dirty and I have never found any black stuff in my fuel sock??
      This "black stuff" is certainly blocking the filter and may be the cause of overloaded fuel pump failure?
      Anyway the "black stuff" issues is killing my confidence in the singles reliability.
      Is there an upgrade on the rocker arms?

    • @MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV
      @MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV  7 лет назад

      The black stuff is the break down of the fuel pump engine. Replace the fuel pump with the Rally Raid Products one and it will be all good.
