Because I am named after this opera, Giseppe, I learned early on to appreciate it and one of the highlights of the entire opera is the grand march and the trumpets, which to this day whenever I hear them make my hair stand on end!!! I love it
I've never heard a more effective combination of strings, brass, woodwinds, and even the percussion was just right! Thumbs up! Giuseppe Verdi himself would applaud from his grave! Magnifico! Greetings from the United States of America!
Wirklich ganz, ganz grosses "Kino".
I heard Aida at Covent Garden, long ago, and was impressed by the trumpeter's alternating soft tonguing and staccato. A defining moment for a "punter" like me. Bravo to this recording, too!
Yes, here in the Philippines, ask anyone what's the tune of their graduation march and they'll hum you this tune. Elgar's pomp and circumstance is attributed more to WWF's wrestler: Macho Man Randy Savage..at lesst by my gneration when i was a kid in the 80's.
In the Philippines they apparently play this music for graduation ceremonies. For me in the United States, it sort of reminds me of someone gaining a high office! Edit: in particular, the first person I think of is former president William Taft, who eventually ended up on the Supreme Court, and in fact became Chief Justice - and he said that this, not the presidency, was his greatest honor! Edit 2: in case you were wondering, I am fascinated by all things related to Taft.
If i ever made a movie of my fantasy stories i would put this as the national anthem of the fictional Empire the protagonist is the Emperor, and i would perform this piece on my trumpet as i was acting the Emperor, who in my story is a trumpeteer and conductor, as well as leader and warlord
Listen to how the low brass and high brass stand out; and the timpani and the string basses. It's superb.
This beautiful music was played at my daughters graduation
Guissepe Verdi is smiling in heaven listening to these brilliant rendition of his composition.
John you are right,Verdi is smiling in heaven.
I really like to imagine that too. 🌸
The quality of sound in this performance is top notch
Here in the Philippines, we use this song as a Graduation March.
In Slovakia too in some Universities 😉
It also used in night Coronation
All thanks to the french 😂
Same
That's awesome
I walked down the isle to this and still would today.

hi lol thks i agree
Fully agree.
I'm one hundred percent in agreement with you about this version!
7N hi
Probably, but he's gonna be pissed when he sees a German tuba.
Verdi marshalled horns like the master he was while dancing with the strings and making the entsemble complete with woodwinds

Verdi orgoglio italiano nel mondo!.. Complimenti per l'esecuzione davvero magistrale .

Wonderful!
Trumpets are an international language😎
There is something unfathomable in this performance .
A brave and proud March is what this March is all about
Apparently in some parts of the world this is a graduation theme. I can see why - this is very similar in feel to Pomp and Circumstance!

a bit older than Pomp and circumstance.
It is a triumphal march.. kind a similar when graduates finished degrees just like how soldiers win a battle.
Brilliant performance of Verdi's most regal composition.
Just like a tune during graduation march
This is the best version of this music that I have ever heard, well played everyone.
The genius in this is indescribable. From the composition itself to the performance to the mix. It gives me goosebumps.
Never get tired of this
This famous masterpiece they play with exquisite skill and breathtaking technique is overwhelmingly comfortable to the ears and the mind
We saw Aida two nights ago, and this is my favourite piece. Wonderful performance.

nice
Fantastic, but only half as many trumpets as I would like!
You don't seriously think 16 trumpets are enough do you
Or 14 I don't even know
Are you kidding me? You want 14 to 18 trumpet players?
0:57 is the part I came for
You can see where the likes of John Williams got his inspiration from (think Olympic Fanfare). Composers are all standing on the shoulders of giants

Graduation song
I saw some italian comments...
Cuz verdi is an Italian composer.
Who's here after knowing that deped graduation song was based from this song
Wonderful, but why close-up shots of every instrument except the solo trumpets, the stars of the show!?
Philippine Graduation March is the other title of this one
I am tierd from lesting to Pavarotti opera cuase idont understand italian . And no subtitle 😂
Bit of a scruffy lot. However a magnificent rendition none the less. A heartfelt thanks to all!!!.
In Mexico it's used in Quinceañeras or 15th birthday for girls.
Why are there so much dislikes? Genuine question. Sound quality?
❤❤❤
