I think it has a lot to do with the way they're displayed in that tiny rectangle. There were 30 characters before the 6 released as dlc which is pretty good for a game like this, more than injustice 2 has if I'm not mistaken. I think if the rectangle were bigger or if they had arranged it better like in other games it would look a lot better and expansive
It also lacks the X-men characters due to 20th Century Fox still holding the rights for them. It's irritating when they introduce new characters in the previous game and don't return in the next. For instance, the Devil may Cry team was the best I have had since MVC2. Dante, Trish and Vergil, were the best team I played, yet Trish and Vergil have been excised from this release leaving only Dante. Albert Wesker is missing along with Jill Valentine so forget about the Resident Evil Trio. If Capcom decides to give it another try in the future I hope they wait until Marvel require the rights to X-men again because I really miss Cyclops and Gambit!!
The way marvel Disney and fox should look at it is that this is really just good publicity for them to be in video games especially one is so widely played like more of a scarecrow is kind of setting that they don't look at it the same way

Nah. The size doesn't have to be huge. Have you seen TT2? That game had a huge roster but it only hurt it. They need better choices however. Nova could be swapped for Wolverine and Spencer for Captain Commando as examples.

Second one has Ultimate in the name and has 48 without dlc(50 with)
