I inherited my dad's lil house. I drive hundreds of miles to fix it up. Not to mention mow and yard work. After completing new plumbing, I ripped out bathroom put it back, ripped out kitchen now putting it back. I'm busy redesigning where kitchen cabinets go, finishing tiling the floor, I finished all new wiring for new appliances. I hauled new appliances to it. Very very costly and with kitchen coming together now day dreaming of money from the sell or should I move in and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Such a toss up.
I was left with a similar situation, in my case it was two joint houses. I go ahead and live one side, and rent the other. I'm not rich but I don't have to punch in a clock. Living life under my rules, it's liberating. It's a little harder when there's not a source of income.

I have been waiting since March 2023 to get hip replacement after I destroyed all the ligaments and cartridge in an accident rock climbing. Thanks to the American "health care system" it has taken this long to get all the permissions and get the insurance to agree to it. I haven't been able to walk without crutches and severe pain in more than a year.
I'm very happy but I know this is a big surgery so I would appreciate all the positive energy you could send.

I just got let go from my tech job. I inflated my lifestyle a bit during the job by getting a bigger apartment and now my bills are high. I want to pivot and be able to make as good of a living as a creative (teaching and playing guitar) but my mind is telling me to be realistic. My brain is telling me I need to continue my career in tech so I can pay my bills. My gut says this is my chance to do something different but I’m worried about running out of money and going into financial ruin.

The hurricane Helene did not harm our town, but our state NC and some others are really suffering, so if small support in donations to the Red Cross or others can be done that is most appreciated.
