That's funny I literally stood up from my painting frustrated af and got on my phone to search tips for blending acrylic paints on youtube then saw this video at the top of my feed like a magical coincidence. Thank you 😌
There is me, trying to blend WITHOUT A WET BRUSH! I didn’t even rinse it, I just saw a acrylic painting video and tried to copy. Thank you for this. ☺️
I've watched multiple videos of how to blend, and this video is the best video I've found on RUclips. So easy, and quick without all the excessive talking, which was very frustrating, and distracting. Definitely subscribing! Thanks again!
Very informative video. TY for showing us a good way to blend using Acrylics. I hope I can get the same results when I try to blend some paints tomorrow. 👍
This painting is very beautiful, your technique is very unique and very accurate! I also draw scenes on the rock and share them on my channel, but I really like your paintings.
Thanks Greg, i have seen this technique a few times recently and i must say, i wish i applied it way earlier, as my transitions used to be awful - This is really helpful.
Wow thanks. I have all these brushes my artist mother left when she died and I don't know what to use them for in some cases. I've been painting about a year and a half, so still beginner in many areas. I had all the brushes you used on hand. Will try this method.
Wanted to try something new for the painting I’m doing rn & this helped so much. I’m literally obsessed on how my background came out thank you so much ! just got a new subscriber ! Will be looking forward to more paint tips so I can advance !
THANK YOUUU, was having a difficult time doing this in school because im more of a drawer than a painter and my classmates were bothering me (my acrylic blue almost got drained because of my classmate) but im glad i found this
This was super helpful, thank you! Can I bother you with a question on it? How long do you wait / how wet does the paint still need to be before I use the dry brush at the end? Should it be about 90% dry?? Thanks again.
Np glad it helped! You want to use the dry brush right away and the wetter the paint the better - don't wait for it to dry at all because the drier it is the harder it is to blend.
I used to blend without wet brush but this is a very nice tip to make soft blends! I will definitely try it next time. I have a question. They used to say get a wet brush (water) and use it as a base for the background on canvas and then when it dries you can use your paints. Is it correct or what is it for? Thanks!
Thank you it was so helpful for me but I have one question if we put some drop of paint on canvas.then we can paint the hole canvas ?? I hope you understand my question ⁉️ And what is the size of your canvas???
Thank you for this I have tried it with the colours pink and blue, however my paint that I applied first dried really fast, that when I can to blending, it didnt merge nicely together. What shall I do to fix this next time?
Thank you for sharing this video I learned a lot from it. I'm a beginner in mixed media, abstract. But with brush's I don't know one from the other. What size blender brush is that?
I want to start painting and I don't know how to blend so hopefully this works for me. If not all hopes are lost in my ability to do a basic painting skill lol. And does this work for multiple colors also ?
Little thinner than normal and no, just use the blending brush to apply the paint and for the initial mixing. Finish it with the large, dry wash brush.
great video man ♥️. I am suffering with white mixing with different color.b If i am using white with blue or any other dark color. The same process shd be followed ? Top - white Bottom - Dark color and blend them ?
I bought the wash brush you recommended in the description! Now, my main issue is.... how to keep the paint from drying? I am working on a large canvas right now and it's really hot where I live...
Try using a bit of slow-dri. Mix some into your paint along with water and it will give you more time Liquitex 6308 Professional Fluid Medium, 8-oz, Slow-Dri Blending www.amazon.com/dp/B000KNPMG4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_dl_H947CEZ8PD2MX4ZT3RBA

Hello Greg. Thank you for this informative lesson on painting a canvas. Is there anything special to applying paint to the edges of the canvas.
I don't have a trick for the edges, but if you do it all at the same time it will be mush easier than going back after everything has dried
Thanks a lot 😊 keep posting more vids
This is very helpful thank you so much!!!
Thanks for sharing your talent with us😊 happy holiday

I have a question. They used to say get a wet brush (water) and use it as a base for the background on canvas and then when it dries you can use your paints. Is it correct or what is it for?
Thanks!
I am not sure about that approach I almost always just do it this way
Thank you it was so helpful for me but I have one question if we put some drop of paint on canvas.then we can paint the hole canvas ?? I hope you understand my question ⁉️
And what is the size of your canvas???
sorry, I don't understand? and it is 11x14"
great job! this helps a lot!
Thanks great job..this vidio helps alot
Hi Greg do you have any tips for doing this process on a large canvas - like 30"x40"? Thank you for your great vids and tips!!!!
Hi yes this one shows exactly how to blend on a large canvas - ruclips.net/video/oec7O58RMl4/видео.html
Thank you
I was painting something for my mother and I needed so much help tysm 😁
I am using watercolor paper for acrylic paint , will this blendinh technique will act there as well or not ?
This technique works best on a canvas - it is going to be difficult to get a smooth blend on paper because it is so absorbent
Do we always need to apply Jesso on the canvas for the larger or small canvas before start painting?
No you do not. This is just a raw canvas with no gesso applied.
@@GregLowmanArt Thank you!
thank you 😊 the video comes at exactly the right time. I would be happy about a galaxy picture. try to create the Galaxy Nebula. I can not do it 😕
@@GregLowmanArt Wonderful :-) can't wait. Please join in step by step, that would be great :-D
Amazing ❤

Try adding a little bit of slow-dri to your paint along with water www.amazon.com/dp/B001UNYH3W/ref=twister_B08R25QZH5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks for this video - so helpful, and so beautiful! Is the paint you used soft heavy, heavy body or fluid acrylic?

Hello, did you prime your canvass?
Hi no it’s just a raw canvas
I want to start painting and I don't know how to blend so hopefully this works for me. If not all hopes are lost in my ability to do a basic painting skill lol. And does this work for multiple colors also ?
Goo dluck & yes this will work w/ different color combos
thanks a lot dude finally my sunset doesnt look like german flag
PLS
*facepalms* u not alone this happens to me too I just don’t know how to Helen’s because I’m like sooo good at drawing but kinda bad at painting
What about doing it on something smaller like a little flower pot?
i've never painted on a flower pot so can't say sry
😲did you use same bush
it was so helpful .thank u so much 🩷🙏
Is it possible to do this technique but with leather dyes on leather? or probably not? Leather dyes are alcohol based and liquid
Hmm I have never worked with leather/dyes before sry
What consistency should my paint be to blend and do I use the blending bush after to finish blending while paint is still wet. Thank you.
Little thinner than normal and no, just use the blending brush to apply the paint and for the initial mixing. Finish it with the large, dry wash brush.
great video man ♥️.
I am suffering with white mixing with different color.b
If i am using white with blue or any other dark color.
The same process shd be followed ?
Top - white
Bottom - Dark color
and blend them ?
Thanks and yes the same process will work with any color combination
If it didn’t turn out like I wanted, can I let it dry at go over it with another layer?
Yes you can do that & if you’re having trouble this is a little easier blending technique - ruclips.net/video/DjSVF9EUDbs/видео.html
Does it work on big canvas?
