    I started in on buttons. Hubs calls me the Button Lady. I bought 25 gallons for $250. Found USAF and Army buttons and artillery collar insignia, thinking it was WWI. I sell tons of snack-size baggies of buttons for $10 free ship . I’m keeping a spreadsheet on button sales now. 19 in January alone. I clear $5 off each one.

    You are so cool. Best teacher ever. I’ve started sorting my stuff out. I’ve decided I want to try to be a vendor at next summers county fair. I’ve been collecting purses and costume jewelry since I was old enough to ride my bike to the antique store. I’m excited for this new direction to take my collecting hobby. I’ve kept all my favorites and I’ve priced all the rest to sell. This is going to super fun. I found an awesome blue table cloth and a red table runner. Wonder Woman colors.

    Like always, thank you for all the information you provide. I remember a few weeks back when you bought all of those buttons and ever since i kept my eyes open. Last week i went to a thrift store and checked out the crafting section and they had a little bag with 60 buttons. I look over it and i saw some navy buttons and i decided to buy the bag for a whooping $5. When i came home i did some research and if they all sell, after fees and shipping i should make around $260. Thanks to you, i always keep my eyes open for many of your suggested items.

    Super Thanks for the great content man,
    So I have many items to sell but I see so many like items and try to figure out what is the best price to list it at Is auction style the best way to see what folks are will to pay or ?
    I have a friend that starts all his auctions on ebay at $5.00 and he says the bidders will show what folks are willing to pay. I hope this makes sense and Super Thanks again.

    • @TheAuctionProfessor
      @TheAuctionProfessor 3 года назад

      I would never suggest just putting $5 on anything like that on a listing. If only one person is on while the item is up that is interested it may only sell for $5. If you put a high price on an item as a BIN with BO you will almost always get more money then starting low. The days of getting the best price like that on an auction have been gone for years. If that is what he's doing then he is surely losing a lot of money.

    • @kiddor909gmail
      @kiddor909gmail 3 года назад

      @@TheAuctionProfessor what's a bin or bo ?
      Yr right about going to low. I handmade a mariners scarf & live in Washington where we love our teams. I started bidding at .99 cents & that's all I got.
      Similar items sold for over $85. The material was vintage & soft, well made ooak.
      I won't do that again. Still Don we need to know what to say in the title.
      Would really appreciate a video on tips about titles & other selling sites.
      I handmade jewelry & upcycle old stuff. It sells well at fairs which I can't do now.
      U can have a great item but if not listed well it won't sell.

    I was just researching some antique postcard lots at an online auction looking for some bargains. It gets frustrating with all the poor photos, lack of relevant information, and very bad descriptions. I thought I'd share with you the absolutely WORST description I have ever seen. It was for a large lot of about 90 or a hundred cards, there was no total: "found these postcards in an old brown paper bag in a box. took them out, put in a stack and took photos." ROFL Who does this stuff? Keep up the great work! -- from a subscriber.

    You should set up a monthly service for your subscribers.. When someone finds something they're not sure if its worth buying they could text q picture and you give a thumbs up or down. Charge a monthly fee or fee per text. I know a guy who does it with sneakers. He only charges $5 you could probably charge $20+. I would pay 20$. Im sure you're too busy though but you could get a knowledgeable person to receive the texts.
