I'm really frustrated by these cameras. I had them working well and apparently, they got touched by a virus - they would randomly reboot to factory IP addresses. I took them off my network and the problem persisted. I'm now trying to reflash and get them back to a known state, but the order of flash versions and other issues are making this impossible. Looks like this serial port erase/reload is the next step.
Rs232 to USB converter and thats connected to your PC and also you will Rs232 (9 pin) female to female and this one connected from the back of the DVR/NVR and to the Rs232 converter
@@minpark6220 i donno if there is a female to usb adaptor exists, i didn't find it ,all i found was rs232 male to usb only, at least in my country, if there is a female to usb adaptor you found then yes go ahead will be better.

What Is your DVR model, and firmware?
It was an old DVR I guess DS-7200HFI series and the firmware 3.1.3
