Aye. I think what makes a good Magneto story these days is looking into the lengths he is willing to go and how many lines he's capable of crossing in comparison to Professor X. He is nowhere near an innocent man, but his goals have a justification to them given the barbarsim he was forced to endure at the hands of the Nazis as a child.
Professor X has the restraint to not let his anger control his actions.
Meanwhile Magneto is far more suceptible to his rage in comparison.
Both men want the same thing. The main conflict they face is how they struggle to agree in how to get to where they want things to go for Humans and Mutants.
