Mika's inability to unalive anything human is what eventually ended her. She could protect herself against her own sister. And since there are no mental health facilities for the criminally insane Carol had no choice. The fact that Judith was next on her list was wild.
This was the ONE comic storyline i didnt think would come to the TV show and the moment the announced there would be child siblings, i knew it was a wrap. In the comics, its still somehow darker. They took the moment from Comic Carl and gave it to TV Carol, which was absolutely HEARTBREAKING considering she lost one daughter because she didnt do enough to protect her or teach her enough. And then she lost another deapite teaching them all they need to survive and then they tied it with the Tyreese and Karen story so perfectly. Idk if Tyreese would have forgiven Carol if he hadnt seen her take on the UNTHINKABLE. You dont kill kids. But what do you do if theres no doctors or hospitals or medicines or even juvenile halls, and you got a Kid trying to kill people for fun because she thinks Walkers are People? In her mind, she didnt kill Mika. She was just making her "different". AND THE FACT THAT MELISSA MCBRIDE WASNT EVEN NOMINATED FOR AN EMMY IN THIS EPISODE?!?!?!?!) Carol KILLED this episode, amongst other things 😅
Reminds you of the girl's father on the deathbed scene. She wasn't upset that her father was dying and is why she needed to stab him in the head, she was upset and backed out because she didn't want to damage the brain and prevent the monsters she fell in love with from emerging. In a normal world the girl might have gotten help and been okay for whatever it was she had. Some would prob think she's a psychopath, but I'm not so sure that would have been her diagnosis. She REALLY cared about those walkers showing she's not void of emotions, then again she didn't connect with humans, lacking empathy and sympathy for humans so she COULD have been diagnosis as a pyschopath. Crazy she identified more with the monster than humanity.
This one was absolutely heartbreaking. I understand why Carol had to do it. There was no other choice. There's no therapy, there's no mental institutions, she's just unsafe to be with anyone anymore. :( I do think Carol was considering just going off alone with Lizzie, but I think she ultimately knew she couldn't help her. No one would ever be safe with her. They were discussing options, but ultimately decided that one wouldn't work. The forgiveness scene between Tyreese and Carol was so incredibly powerful. A beautiful scene. This one left me emotionally wrung out. Your reactions are always so thoughtful and insightful. I love your commentary.
That was a mercy kill by Carol. There's no way she could be around people after all that. So the options are. 1. Abandon her when she isn't aware/sleeping, meaning the next time she plays with a walker no one will be able to save her, meaning she gets rip to pieces and eaten alive by her "friends"/walkers. Or 2. Abandon her - making her available to people like the Claimers(the group that found Daryl after he lost Beth), the same guys who were planning on SA'ing Michonne when she got back to that house before Rick strangled their buddy and escaped. They would've definitely violated her if she ran into them. Or 3. Get shot in the head by Carol, making her inevitable death quick and painless.
This episode is so well written and Melissa McBride (Carol) acting is phenomenal. This really progressed Carols character to show us she will do whatever she needs to do to survive and to protect her friends/family. Amazing reaction! Can’t wait for more!
I think Tyreese decided not to hurt Carol because he saw what taking another life did to her Carol is not heartless or emotionless Killing Lizzie was a tough decision to make and even tougher to execute Killing Karen and David was probably the same She didn’t make those decisions lightly and her actions (that had good intentions but still bad) weigh heavily on her and cause her so much anguish that she was prepared to die by Tyreese’s hand Tyreese saw that she is human and despite misguided actions has a good heart and a conscious.
Brighton Sharbino was abt 12 when she played Lizzie. I remember she got death threats for this episode and the one where she almost smothers Judith. This is an ✨iconic✨ episode, and one of the darkest.
@@cleogriffith9921 Brighton and Josh McDermitt (Eugene) got them pretty bad. He deleted his Twitter for a while bc of the threats to himself and his family. Some ppl are ✨insane✨
Baby girl went absolutely nuts 😢. And I never seen it coming!!!! Poor Carol!!! RIP Meka. She was so sweet!! ❤p.s. Imagine if she grew up. Baby girl would be DEADLY!!!!!! 😢
The Grove was always one of my top ten favourites! After this episode premiered, I saw an interview with the two little girls! They were so sweet and looked like they had the time of their lives!
The Blu Ray DVD version had an alternate angle of the Look at the Flowers scene from Tyreese’s POV from the window so we actually see Carol shoot her and see her body fall and react It’s a much more jarring scene IMO makes it seem more impactful but Carol’s face does say SO much when it cuts to her afterwards.
It’s heavy moments like this that makes this show so compelling I think this was the more humane resolution She could not be trusted around Judith or anyone after this It was either putting her down or abandoning her The latter would just have had her playing with Walkers until she was inevitably painfully ripped apart Just like she was about to let that one she was playing with in the yard almost get her when Carol was running over She wouldn’t have made it on her own This was more painless resolution for her really Great episode.
Melissa McBride/Carol won an award for this episode (Saturn Award I think it was) and she deserved it Chad L Coleman/Tyreese was also fabulous I have tears in my eyes now just watching it again It was a very Of Mice And Men tribute in a way I do think that Lizzie might’ve possibly had some kind of schizophrenia (Mental Illness) and with no treatment no medicine no counselling Carol did the only thing that could be done And Yes Carol did feel she didn’t deserve to live and when Tyreese forgave her it was a beautiful scene Your guys reactions were spot on As for Carol she carries it all with her till this day.
That was really sad And very upsetting but if you can remember when her father died she had mental illness before the turn and because her sister would always tell her to look at the flowers like you supposed to count to three that means she was in therapy poor Carol that had to be the worst thing ever to do😢

Hello 👋 Another awesome video, 👍👍 Great catch on the burnt Walkers from Daryl and Beth’s fire, 👍👍 Tyrese is played by the awesome Chad Coleman, the first time I remember seeing him was on the Criminal Minds episode ’The Company’, he played a pretty evil role, so it was great seeing him play Tyrese’s character, and as that character I truly believe he would have forgiven anyone, I always thought he and Mika were very similar always wanting to see the good in the situations they face, 🤔 This one was definitely a hard one to watch, poor Mika, RIP Mika (wonderfully played by Kyla Kennedy) and also (not sure she will rip) Lizzie (wonderfully played by Brighton Sharbino) Sad that Carol had to be the one to deal with Lizzy, but between the two, even though it nearly destroyed her, she is the stronger one emotionally, I think it would have destroyed Ty, but seeing how hard it was for her to make the choice she did, made it easier for Ty to forgive her. Fun fact: (if you do not already know) Pine sap is considered a wonder sap, and can be used as a self-aid to treat wounds, stop bleeding and treat rashes. I personally would do the exact same thing as Carol, unfortunately leaving her alive would potentially put anyone she might cross paths with in danger, even if it were available sadly with how far gone she is, I am not sure counseling would even help her, she would probably have to be institutionalized. Have a safe and wonderful weekend, 👋😀👋

Hershel must’ve whispered to her from the dead saying u can save the zombies😂.
