right at the end of the evening there was a male rufous who flew up to the saucer style feeder by the chimneys. he just flew up, perched, and ate with other birds coming and going. he didn't start any fights. that is unusual. sometimes i think that the rufous hummingbirds enjoy the fighting as much as they enjoy the food.
