Chris reminds me of my favorite design theory teacher. She's been my favorite teacher for years actually. I had the best possible experience with critiques from her while I was in design school back in Cuba. Two of the things you mentioned are particularly very close to how I was taught to look at my work. - To remove elements from compositions and if the piece doesn't suffer from that removal then it wasn't meant to be there. - Like you said Chris, start with references from what works. It's funny you mentioned the zoo. One of my assignments in my first year was to create a simplified version of an animal. We were told to go to the zoo and the museum of science that had a library accessible to university students. All that in order study how the animal behaves. This video brought great memories and it's legit gold advice to everyone.
First time I'm disagreeing with Chris: the lion logo looks very cool and professional. This is Graphics Design, NOT Fine Arts. And even if we're to classify as partly fjne art, art is still subjective. The big head representation gives the logo a winning edge and breaks it free from what it would otherwise have come off as: GENERIC.
You guys are such amazing homies. Right now, I am working as a student designer at my university. This had amazing timing because I was in a slump because I got assigned to do a series of branding. And I kinda started to become overwhelmed. Now I am feeling pumped again. Love you guys! *Crying buckets of happy tears*
Thank you for the great video! I've just done a new project and those three tips were actually the things I learned in the process of designing. I think they are useful tips for any design project in general.
Thanks Chris. I am a PhD student in Stem Cell Biology with a passion for graphic design and video production. Your videos have inspired me to launch my own side business to profit off my "niche" as a scientific illustrator. Hopefully, I can be a success story and end up on your show one day! Love from Canada!
I really like the fact that you put the cut scene where Chris Do had to redo 3 times a sentence. It shows 3 things : - You care about quality in your videos - It's a bold decision and it makes your channel more dynamic and down-to-earth - You don't have a problem with showing vulnerability, and therefore makes your channel also more trustworthy. Very nice video overall, looking for more soon !
Would love to see illustration tutorials. Especially the style Greg Gunn has at the moment. Really popular, but I rarely see anyone teaching this style.
Really like your videos, good content. I was wondering if you have posts commenting about crowdsourcing design sites like 99designs, designcontests, etc, do you think these sites hurt the design trade now that big companies are shifting towards them?
Some people says that when you look for a lot of inspiration before creating logo it is easy to inspire too much and make something really similar to somebody's work. What do you think about it?
Good video, but you are totally off on that TS logo. It's horrible from top to bottom. Can't believe you thought the T and S were good. Oh, might want to fix the typo on the word PROCESS... Other than that, as always I enjoy the videos!
The Futur Academy , couldn’t find the Design Cuts show.. finally did and got the link to others that were bouncing around trying to find the interview. It was very good.
the 1st logo is stikl non legible. The reference to the paper clip didn't need to be on both words, it would have been more legible for the word "clip" to not have any gag in there, and just leave the clip icon on the "a", it would have been enough.
Also, in that Top Story logo, The S looked like an slanted N
also known as a Z
@@mikehorton4187 oh yes lol

Thank you Chris for this video, really made me a better designer than I was 5 mins ago.

Much love ❤️

Love these shorts. Be fun and helpful to see reworks of the logos (or similar) in a matching longer video.
Anyone agree with me but I find Chris’s energy level is up the ceiling in these short videos 😆. Thanks the Futur! ♥️

Loved this. Compact video with perspective changing knowledge!
So glad you started this channel. Although the live streams are pure gold with lots of value, I don't have always the time to watch them in full.
Love this channel! This is exactly what I need right now.

I'd love to see more of the process of making logos better (i.e.: the full lion logo video, or the paper clip one)
Carl look up “logo therapy” and watch the next episode at the end of this week. You’ll see it all uncut and live
All good tips

WOW✨👌
Would love to see illustration tutorials. Especially the style Greg Gunn has at the moment. Really popular, but I rarely see anyone teaching this style.
Greg is working on something as we speak.
For the TS logo I would like to add a shadow in between the join of S. :)

everytime i watch The Futur videos, im like mind blownnn woah he makes so much sense, and always wonder who are those dislike button people and why
thank you 🙌🏻🙅🏼
Super!!
Kudos to the SFX team on this one xD
i can smell that on the futur logo !
Holy whoa.
Even on the thumbnails you killed it.
That's all Min, our designer.
@@TheFuturAcademy Min-blowing work.
Can i ask what's the futur academy's logo about? I'm guessing it's an A. But the small piece, what does it mean?
2:01 Just dropping by from the futur(haha, puns!) to say that the elements in Roberto's logo here were social distancing.
Please which app are you using m new i want your help

Hi thank you everyone.
Instructions unclear. Now there is a Lion in my room.
Cris! What’s up my man!!!!!
hello Alexis.
Omg Chris said Venezuela hahahaha
Why does Futur not have an E?
You've got a typo - Critiquing Proccess at 0:19
You should review our logos and designs once in a week
We already do. Check out the next Logo Therapy on Thursday.
I love this girls "mhm"
Love the video...someone spelled "process" wrong they spelled "proccess"
19s into the video
my team doesn't know how to use spell check.
The Contrast with the Paperclip was in the original way better than the make over version. I can't be the only one who is seeing it, am I ?!?!
I'm a student. Anddddd i wanna practice making logo's. So Can anyone tell me a good low budget laptop? 😬
easy to make correction an existing logo but hard to start from the beginning..IMHO
Easy to leave a critical comment than to critique a design. IMHO.
Chris sounds like Yoda
i read "paper cup"
Please Provide Best Logo Font :)
All this for free? Wuuuuut!
Yup
That BOSS cap really distracts me!
focus on what is essential
Paper clip first logo came out with a certain "phalic symbolism."
So basically, what chris is saying that you have to make your mind first and then only you can create a proper logo.
Some people says that when you look for a lot of inspiration before creating logo it is easy to inspire too much and make something really similar to somebody's work. What do you think about it?
You should read the book Steal Like an Artist
Paper clip before is better i guess

What can’t you find?
The Futur Academy , couldn’t find the Design Cuts show.. finally did and got the link to others that were bouncing around trying to find the interview. It was very good.
"Fly to Africa and go on a Safari to research Lions" said no client ever.
Dude you are my degsining father🤣
Dumbfoundead is a designer?
Hey can i send you one of my logo's and perhaps receive spme feedback?
we aren't currently taking submissions at the moment.
@@TheFuturAcademy ok thanks. My email is ( lwebb9464@gmail.com). Can I be notified, the next time you are accepting entries?
