The Cavendish family all seem so very kind. I have seen various films about them and whenever this and the current Duke give a speech they always seem genuinely grateful to those who have come to join them and also their staff who work for them.
What a sweetheart bunch! These were the War Generation who carried on doing the ordinary human things like love & marriage despite the desperate times in which they lived.
OMG talk about memory lane! This is fantastic! Believe it or not as children in Catholic school in the USA we used to sing all of these old band songs in performances on stage for our parents! Very enjoyable.
The late Duke and Duchess of Devonshire seemed a lovely couple. Their interview is a real gem. I've several of Debo's books, it's nice to hear their voices. Incidentally, anyone know the band(s) playing?
These wonderful events always sound better than they turn out to be. Charming surroundings. - but one feels sorry for so many elderly couples cooped up together - for a cup of tea in a drafty marquee. Some of them do look as tho they’d have been happier staying at home.
Pam, Debos sister, can be seen from 45:40. She lived in Woodfield house, appearantly close to Caudle Green or Brimsfield, Glouchester. Anyone who can find it on the googe earth map?

That is a solid couple . After all those years they still genuinely loved & admired each other . Lovely to witness .
Loved seeing this video. Her Grace is the reason that Chatsworth has been saved throughout the years. I admired her so. May she RIP.
The duchess was an exceptional character, like all her Mitford sisters.
She was the reason, but always denied it.

We can still learn a lot from these wonderful older couples by their devotion and loyalty to each other and the importance of tradition in families.
God I love this genaration they were so special XX
Wonderful couple....Chatsworth owes a lot to them
What a splendid couple. The Mitford ladies were all so fascinating! ❤
Thank you for posting this I can't get enough of Chatsworth

Perfectly and intelligently said ❤
This is a true gem, thank you very much for uploading!
It must have been a wonderful day for all the guests and so thoughtful of the Duke and his wife

Looking at the emblem on the banners I would guess Bakeware town band.
@@mscott3918 I’m 13 grand daughter of Devonshire
Debo & Jessica were the best Mitfords.

White Cliffs of Dover makes me cry each time I hear it.
Such nice people! Congratulations!
Quite the scenery
Pamela at 45:42!
Bad music choice. I have to turn it down to enjoy the film. So loud, can't hear the birds.
Agree! Sounds like Monty Python theme sometimes. LOL
The music?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!+!!!+++!!!!!!!!+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!+++!!!!!!!!+!+!
I just couldn’t take the horrible and inappropriate music. Sorry, as I love and admire this stately home so much.
Sorry, I did not put the music on, it was made with the music in the background, I do agree with you, I believe it stops later on but can't remember!
It's a brass band rendition of themes by Gilbert and sullivan, seems rather cheery

@@pensjon2000 Hi, this artical mentions Woodfield House if that is any help to you? www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/glos/vol7/pp-140-149
I had to leave due to the music
Hahaha yes it is a BIT much, you think? 😂
