Nice job on the table! I’m looking at doing a similar build with a metal back plate and the plywood for the table. We’ll see how it goes…

Nice, I'm about to do a tailgate table on my JL and this gave me some ideals. I like "do it yourself" projects. Keep up the good work.

Thanks. It has worked perfectly. DIY is the best! Thanks for watching 😃

    It's looking good!
Instead of hinges, my Trailgater just uses some metal wires to limit downward movement - so yours is already fancier than some of the commercial options! Just add a slide-out cutting board and you're set!.
I'd also suggest adding some sort of retention mechanism to the top - even if the hinges are pretty stiff, a few hours of bumping around on bad roads has a habit of loosening things up. My Trailgater has come loose a few times and it's pretty disturbing to open the rear gate and have the table come crashing open.

@EatsTooMuchJam. Hey thanks. You are right on all points. I do need to figure out a slide out feature for it. And yes it already flips open when on the trail. Aside from a bungie I haven’t figured out a latch yet. All the ones I have seen are too big. Thanks for watching😀🙏🏽

    Nice 👍🏻 work! Looks great.
I had already purchased the Rough Country table and added it.
    Two things I noticed.
    1) yesterday I took off my freedom panels and put them in the trunk and laid them flat… the table prevents you from closing completely with the freedom panels lying down. That’s a bummer.
2). It also slight presses against my trunk rubber liner as well and bends it slightly. If I knew this before I would of second guessed adding it.
Otherwise it is a cool, reasonably priced mod.
Thanks for the video E. Hope you are well.

@Sd76. Did you get a storage bag for your panels? Once they are in the bag the included strap let’s you tie em down standing upright against the back seat. Check that out if you don’t have one.
Is there any adjustment on your table that will allow to to move it up so it won’t press on the liner?
As always, thanks for watching buddy! 😀👍🏽

Oops good with the stain. Is that polyurethane or shellac?

It was just a quick few coats of Polyurethane. 😄
