Your comment shows your lack of understanding on the reasoning behind the life time appointment... what we need, is judges who are willing to give up power. RBG was too addicted to the celebrity and power. If she were a good judge, we would have willingly given up her seat long ago.

I do think she stayed too long but I don't think it was for status. I think it's because she had literally worked non stop her whole life and didn't know how to stop. Plus she probably didn't want to stop after hey husband died, she distracted herself with work. But I could be wrong.

RBG represented a large segment of america that shared in her values and beliefs. While I disagreed with her on many of the things she believed in, I'm glad that our system of democracy still works in that the people in this country got someone who stood by them in their corner of the world. Someone's who's tenacity and dedication to her country were probably unmatched on that bench.
If you don't believe in her views, at least raise her as a symbol that our democracy still works, that sometimes you don't get your way because there are other American's who got there's.

In my daily life I would not come into contact with Justice Ginsburg, but what I know of the woman, I do indeed like. And should I have ever passed her in some hallway in D.C. or on the street (though, I should think members of our Supreme Court never did too much walking on the street?); if I'd gotten over the initial shock of a chance-encounter, I believe I would have simply smiled and said "hello". The rarified air that these people live in and the responsibilities they have, it leads me to remember my place and to simply let them continue in their work, rest, and play.

Ginsburg infamously only had two Black clerks in total during her decades as a judge. That included one clerk during her 13 years on the D.C. Circuit Court - a duration where the National Review reminded its readers “she had never had a single black law clerk, intern, or secretary. Out of 57 employees, zero blacks.”
That unfortunate trend continued after she became a Supreme Court Justice, when she “hired only one black clerk among the more than 100 clerks she has had.”

2016 interview from CNN, RBG own words. The court is handicapped without a 9th judge.
Calling Garland "eminently qualified," she reiterated her belief that the Senate should hold a vote but "it's the Senate's prerogative." She added, however, that the court is "handicapped" without nine justices. Asked whether she said Clinton would re-nominate Garland, if she were to win the election, Ginsburg said, "your guess about what she would do is as good as mine."

“Frankly,” said Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2009, “I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.” She was speaking to the New York Times Magazine in an article on women on the court. Readers understood that those “populations” included racial minorities.

I just read an article from Washington post from 2003 ripping rgb and talking about how she want to lower the age of consent. Get rid of mothers and fathers day. Also she wanted to have men's and women's prisons combine. TWP said it was discriminatory to have them separate! All of those things were written by the Washington post.
