LOCATION: Iris Ave. Overcrossing of the I-5
AREA/CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:
A witness told the officers that the male driver of the GMC Yukon was swerving while traveling eastbound on Iris Ave. He suddenly went to the right and hit a parked trailer. As the Yukon went up on the sidewalk, it hit a parked car.
As the witness stopped to check on the driver, she heard screaming coming from behind the truck. There were two female pedestrians who were walking across the bridge and were hit by the SUV as it went up on the sidewalk. Both women suffered major injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The driver did appear to be not injured. The driver is being questioned. SDPD's Traffic Division is investigating.
So sad and scary prayers and speedy recovery to the ladies
I just knew you were going to be busy last night. Racing on the 94E, drunk driver on the 94W. Just a mess. I hope the ladies recover.
The 94 is such a disaster, every single day!
@@ChadDeLanzo it really is
Is a trailer unattached allowed to be parked on the street?
It’s a class B trailer so yes it can be on the street.
So common for impaired drivers to steer towards what they are looking at.
Target fixation.
Well then those leather pants caused all this😮😅
@@danevannett3804 Dangerous curves.
@@yettimannettii2039 😂
I've walked over that bridge before....not a good area to be walking.
Then the city or Caltrans neds to fix it.
Modelo hour!!!
Nah looks like plain terrible driving. (Maybe Cell Phone Action?)
@@anchorsaweigh9893 Negative, looks like a punk either on drugs or alcohol! Stop trying to defend the suspect.
@@Joshua-82 You know what assuming leads too….. The more you know 💫

Happens every weekend in San Diego. No DUI enforcement
Good news, SDPD is hiring. Why don't you get hired on and show them how to do the job.
San Diego has the highest DUI arrests in the nation.
Probably from crashes.
todays generation
I'm betting the DUI numbers have gone down since the Boomers were young.
According to “Drunk Driving Fatalities National Statistics” between 1991-2022 DUI fatalities decreased nationally by 35%
So there you go, do a little research instead of talking out of your ass
Was the guy that was upset related to one of the victims?
Reportedly the father.
As usual. No backboard. Did someone decide to just do away with them altogether?
Why was the trailer in the roadway, not parallel to the sidewalk and a safety cone ? Not that it would have mattered to an impaired driver, just wondering. So sad the two females were hit.
Wasnt it attached to the SUV at one point?
@@pawznplay2772 Article says he hit a parked trailer. If it was he took the time to install the jacks on to the trailer.
The trailer was parallel and it was the first thing hit.
No
@@911VideoNews The front corner of the trailer is across the sidewalk the left rear extends into the road way. Like I said would not have mattered to an impaired driver.
Terrible
💐👍
Constant driving issues for people below the 8. What's (really) up with that? Props to the vehicle owner for current tags.
Less Gringos below the 8
Pedestrian not paying attention while on a street. They will learn quickly.
They were on the sidewalk you stoopid GHOUL.
You are blaming the victims! SMFH!
Did you not bother to read the description? Try again!
@crimsonfirelily pedestrian should always pay close attention on or near any road. I did the slow mo run crossing last night at the San Ysidro Blvd. People enjoy it.
@@911VideoNews and yes. Always pay attention, even on a sidewalk.
