This is also a good question. On one hand, I would limit the streams to 5000 to encourage the buyer to purchase a more expensive license, on the other hand, if the artist registers the song correctly and gives the producer their proper split, do you really wanna put a limit on something thats making you money?
Just a thought, but why don't we call an "Exclusive License" something like a "Lease Buyout"? To me, that seems more appropriate being most beats are sold on a Non Exclusive basis to many artist and therefore can never really be "Exclusive" to anyone. Now if someone buys a beat that no one has Purchased/Licensed before, then you have an Exclusive License. I think about a situation where as an artist takes a producer to court after buying a beat Exclusively for a large amount then finding out a hundred other people have also purchased a license to the beat as well. The Artist says, "But you sold this beat to me Exclusively", how would the producer defend himself? I know I could be overthinking this one but I think the point is valid. I would love to see Beatstars lead the way in this issue and make the licensing more transparent, as I've had to explain this to far too many artist that have purchased Exclusive Beats from me over the years, and its always a lengthy coversation/debate on what an "Exclusive" license truly is.
I don't have a solution but I write into the description of the license "Existing rights of use for previous licensees remain" (I just translated this from german and hope that in English has the same meaning ^^) - cause that's how it is. everyone who purchased the beat before you sold it exclusively still must have a valid license. afaik that is the reason why nobody is allowed to use Content ID Systems except the one who purchases the exclusive license
because the word exclusive is the most use words that artist and producer know like its a lingo , in my opinion "lease buyout" will confuse people because that's not the common lingo
Thanks man! I need help understanding something... Let's say the song blows up - which is a good thing - what do you do then once the streams exceed the agreement? I assume you don'T want to just take the song down. Does it mean a new contract has to be drawn up? If so, what does that contract look like?
Hi! If I buy a beat, do I get the license on file with my download. With my name in the license? And no need for signatures from me and the producer? Thanks
Is it mandatory that my licenses have an expiration date? I don't like that my clients have to worry about an expiration date, can I create a license without an expiration date? 🤔
What if I want to sell custom beat packs? How do I go about that and be able to succeed in that marketing? Like do I need to add my own license to them or can I charge them to pay for the licenses?

When you left it at untagged at about 3:00 , does that mean you still put your tag in but beatstars doesnt throw their tag on? It if you click voice tag, even if yours is on there, beatstars throws theirs on?
Untagged means we send the file you uploaded into the "Untagged" section of your track. You should only be uploading untagged files into that section, if you have manually tagged anything yourself that file should go into the Tagged Beat section. "With Voice Tag" means we send the file with the tag, like you would hear for the streaming preview.
