as much as I do hate "Welcome to the Madhouse" album, which really deserved its 0, and how horrendous "Dance Monkey" is too...I kinda like this song, moreover, I'm really happy for Tones & I to move forward! I doubt her next album will be anything above, like, 3 or 4, but I can't deny I am excited to hear more

This honestly gives me a Lorde, Bruno Mars, and BTS vibe. Like the funk-pop style of Bruno Mars like on Finesse, the pop style of BTS like on Butter, and the singing voice of Lorde. It’s not that bad! Not the best I’ve heard, but I am surprised how this song sounded! It’s pretty interesting!

Even the first new Tones & I single, Eyes Don’t Lie, was good. I think it’s the best of the new batch and I feel like it wasn’t given a fair chance on stream. It has the cheesiest instrumental but best vocal performance of any Tones & I track by far.

@@genesisosuna Nah I really believe that. This song is generic. Dance Monkey is a lot more distinguishable and interesting in every way: vocally, instrumentally and lyrically. Never found her vocals to be that annoying in Dance Monkey so this song feels like it lacks personality. Although I do have to admit I can only listen to her vocals in small doses. Vocals are really the only thing people can dislike about Dance Monkey because they are so weird. When you don't hate them, it's pretty easy to enjoy it.

Not really my cup of tea, but I enjoy the less abrasive vocal delivery. The debut was at times migraine inducing due to that weird growly voice she does. It's an above average Tones and I song, but a subpar pop song imo.

I had only heard Dance Monkey and it doesn’t sound as bad as people make it out to be. It can be annoying like an overplayed Shape of You kinda way.
Now that I’ve heard Won’t Sleep here, it sounds to me that the new track Charlie just dialed down on the personality of her first record. As annoying as it may sound to a lot of people, the first record had a tiny tinge of something that can later be turned into an original style.
This new track has zero personality and sounds as mass produced as anything on the radio. Tones and I must be happy that she’s more embraced but that’s just a loss for the music. If every “bad” and “awful” thing in the pop scene is demolished, we’re gonna get “listenable” shit like this as if that’s a better course.
"Won't Sleep" strikes me as a shitty knockoff of that Billie Eilish song
