why you did not calculate dry unit weight in the first layer ?
and submerged unit weight in clay layer ?
First layer is above water table and have saturation of 40%, it means it's having sone water content also, so calculate the Bulk unit weight.
We'll calculate submerged unit weight of clay, when we will have to calculate effective pressure only, to get answer directly.
In case of section,
A shouldn't be there some negative pore water pressure due to capillary rise?
It will be mentioned or given when we have to calculate the effect of capillary effect.
