Well done on a concise overview of editing text in Notion. Exactly the content I was looking for. This is really useful. Thank you, @Janosch.

    Hey mate,
there is another shortcut you can use for the headings. Just hit "#" and enter for heading 1, "##" and enter for heading 2 and the same principle goes for heading 3. I only heard recently about it and since then it was from good help to me. :)

      Hey Tjark,
thanks for helping out, that's actually a shortcut I haven't used yet. Looks great, thank you!

Is there any way to select multiple words on different lines at the same time and then highlight them, just like we do in the MS Word by holding the Ctrl key....

    • @JanoschsWorkspace

As far as I know, there is currently no way of doing this unfortunately :(

There is any option of word count?

    • @JanoschsWorkspace
      @JanoschsWorkspace  2 года назад +1

Hey Juliano, no unfortunately this isn't available in Notion yet. Quickly pasting the content into a tool like wordcounter.net/ would do :)
If you need advanced capabilities, you're probably still better of with Word/Docs though!

How is it possible that it has no search and replace tool?! and I was Trying to use it like my main note taking app.

Yes, unfortunately that's something that's still missing with Notion :(

No replace word tool shown in video. Don't watch if you're here for that

Hey mate, I understand Notion is probably giving you some compensation for that, but please be more honest and stop that huge pile of bullshit...
Notion won't replace Word or any other text editor at the moment because it lacks ESSENTIAL functionality (not "fancy" as you man call them). You want examples? No problem.
    - No search and replace tool (you can ctrl+F, but not replace anything)
    - The spell check tool is buggy AF (you need to click on the corrected word 5 or 6 times for it to be corrected)
    - Impossible to change language (if like me you work in more than one language, or if English isn't your priority: you're fucked)
    - Only 3 fonts
    - No word counter
    - Impossible to export in docx
Do I need to continue the list? Okay then.
    - Impossible to access your notes if you are not connected to network (some of the classrooms at my uni have weak to no signal, so I couldn't take notes using Notion)
    - No option to actually format text (no line spacing, limited colours, etc.)
    - No shortcut for highlighting (you have to use ctrl+shift+h and you can't chose the colour that way)
I guess you got it. Notion is great for a few things, but absolutely NOT for text editing or note taking. That's it.

Haha, I really wish Notion would sponsor me, but unfortunately they don't :(
As I said in the video: Of course it doesn't replace Word when it comes to all of its features. I'm just saying that in my personal case (and in the case of many others) the features Notion has to offer are good enough to where I don't need Word or Google Docs anymore.
Obviously there are countless features in Word that Notion doesn't have, but that doesn't mean that there aren't people (like me) who can easily do all of their writing and note-taking in Notion without missing a single feature :)

How is it possible that it has no search and replace tool?! and I was Trying to use it like my main note taking app. Pls can you give me some reccomendations for a better note taking app that can run some database relation?
