Andrea is flat out jealous of her own sister, and it's so pitiful to see it translate into these scenes. Clearly, this isn't about Minnie being chosen to help Amanda's boyfriend find a ring befitting enough for her sister. This all boils down to Andrea insecurities about herself and her tumultuous relationship with Chris that need to be acknowledged. I wouldn't be surprised if Andrea is envious of Amanda. Andrea is currently pregnant with her third child from a man who has constantly walked out on her after giving birth to her first two children, and she has yet to find stability in that relationship. I truly believe Andrea was projecting a great bit of anger onto Minnie and resorted to hitting below the belt in an attempt to hurt Minnie's feelings, even when Amanda outright stated that she loved her ring.
