My god I loved The Caretaker! Such gorgeous writing. I went out to find all the Ron Rash I could get my hands on as soon as I finished it. Blackburn is one of those characters I’ll remember forever.
Hi Rene! Yay for The Caretaker 😊 I don't know many people who've read it, so this makes me happy. I also need to read more Ron Rash. Do you have any recommendations? Hope you're well ❤
Hi Jasmine! I was recommended to your BookTube Channel from Nickelle's Nook (Nickelle). I can't wait to subscribe and follow along with your reading journey! you read so many books in January and February. That's so impressive! I've never even heard of these and will definitely check them out.
Hello! Oh that is so lovely - thank you for watching and saying hi! I will have to go and say thank you to Nickelle. I hope you find some good recommendations here that you enjoy 😄
@@JasmineReads yes of course! I also have a booktube channel if you ever want to hop over and get some fun recommendations! ✨ cheers and happy reading!
I've been meaning to read A Passage to India for ages, I like everything E. M. Forster writes 😌 I've slowly been rereading the Percy Jackson series in 2024 and have been loving it all over again :D
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles is my favorite so far this year. Thank you for these recommendations! I've added The Caretaker and Frank & Red to my list.
I'd like to read Rose Tremain's Absolutely and Forever, but I still haven't got round to it. I started the year off strong with Susanna Clarke's wonderful 19th century pastiche novel Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. I'd never read anything quite like it before, and because it's so long I really wanted to take my time immersing myself in the atmosphere and the language, like lowering yourself into a hot bath. I also very suddenly lost someone in January (I'm so sorry about your dad), and having something like Strange & Norrell to fall back on helped me keep my sanity a bit. I hope you've been okay xx
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Thank you for sharing. I'm pleased that reading is helping you a long - it's definitely doing that for me too. I've heard such interesting things about Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. It definitely intrigues me! Perhaps I will finally get around to it at some point, when in need something super long and immersive. Sending love ❤
Passage to India, sheer bliss. It always surprises me when I read a classic to find how rather modern most of them are. It just goes to show I suppose that while clothes and things change people on a whole don't, attitudes hopefully are changing, but there are still societies rules that can be very restrictive and unfair.
I always love hearing your thoughts so much!! Frank and Red actually sounds so cute like just a fun time so I just downloaded it on audible 😂
Ah thank you lovely! Hope you're doing well? ❤
Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on these, Jasmine! Great reviews 💚
Thank you so much, Leanne! 😊
Instant subscribe! Love how you describe the plots ❤
Oh that's so lovely to hear! Thank you, and welcome 😄
I really want to read Minor Detail. I loved Etaf Rum's books last year
Ooh thank you for bringing Etaf Rum to my attention! I have reserved Evil Eye at the library 😊

I’ve been looking at Frank and Red but wasn’t sure but I might try the audio instead of the physical now actually! Thanks ☺️
Ahh I hope you enjoy! It's a lovely, easy listen 😊

Me too! E M Forster never disappoints 👌 That's really fun. I've only ever read the first Percy Jackson, but my husband Cam loves them!

Oh interesting! We were gifted that a while ago, but I haven't gotten around to it. I hope you love The Caretaker and Frank & Red when you read them 😊
Great video Jasmine :)
Thanks so much for watching! 😊
I haven’t read Passage to India yet - I have read so many of Forsters novels so glad to hear that one is also great.
It's so great! Which is your favourite Forster? I doubt any will ever top Howards End for me!
@@JasmineReads I love A Room With A View. Howards End is a close second.
@@ohladysamantha Can't argue with the top two!

I know exactly what you mean! I always get this feeling too. So interesting to see all of the differences and similarities.
Lucas Rijneveld is Dutch, not Danish😉 My favorite read this month was Kala by Colin Walsh!
Oh damn it! You're right 😂 Ooh yes to Kala! One of my favourite reads of last year. So glad you enjoyed it!
