    10 TIPS:
    1. Be immuned to crying - These days Parents are scared or pressurised by toddler's crying and immediately give in and do what they want.eg if they cry for phone we give them, if they cry for a chocolate we give them, so that they stop crying. But, this way we only teach them to cry more and for every little thing they need.
    2. No means No! - Kids in todays generation do not get to listen NO a lot. They are provided with more than they require. They have everything in abundance. Clothes, toys, games, screen time etc. We need our kids to experience No, on time to time basis for them to develop values and clear codes of behaviour.
    3. Set clear boundaries - Kids need absolutely clear boundaries or rules to feel safe and in control. Examples of clear boundaries would be... Using magic words...sorry, please and thank you. Being polite, no hitting, no screaming, no crying, no throwing toys or food, doing chores at home, eat when its time to eat and not in between meals, no junk food if you don't eat healthy food.
    4. Give Consequences just like we give rewards - We have to give consequence to our kids bad behaviour every time. If you miss even once, kids know they can escape.
    5. Follow through or Walk your Talk - Always always follow through what you say. Walk your talk otherwise your child will not take you and your discipling seriously. So if you have said time out till you stop crying. Do it! If have said, no toys unless you stop throwing, do it!
    6. 3 Strike Rule - If you’re looking for a fair method of disciplining children that truly gets results, try the 3-strikes method. It has worked wonders in our home. Basically, a strike is a verbal warning for bad behavior. Every day, each child is allowed three strikes, or three verbal warnings before they lose a privilege.
    7. Giving Alternatives - I always give 2 alternatives or options to kids. This or that? If they want something else than I say....ok you wont get anything then. They usually settle on one of the two options I was offering them.
    8. Every habit can be changed if worked upon it - One really effective way to teach good habits to kids is through stories. Make up moral stories and teach kids morals like always speak truth, never to hit and always help and be considerate of others.
    9. Teach them patience - Activities like colouring, gardening, learning balancing bike on its own need patience and perseverance. We need to encourage our kids in such activities where they learn important life skills.
    10. Its ok to be Angry if your child is misbehaving - It becomes tough to discipline a strong willed child and sometimes you have to be angry. So do not think getting angry once in a while is bad. What is bad though is if you are tired from your work and you yell at your child for no fault of theirs. Only get angry at your child's bad and not at your bad.
