Oh Crystal, I’m so sorry you’re going through so many issues this kidding season. A friend of mine had larger goats and smaller goats. One day her large buck broke loose and got in with her smaller does. Two does got pregnant with him. When doe one delivered, she had to have assistance and delivered twins. When doe two went into labor they had no choice but to call the vet. It was a cold bitter night. They had to bring the doe into their brand new remodeled bathroom and do a c- section. Doe had two huge twins. Mom was unable to nurse them so they were bottle babies. This family bent over backwards to care for these goats just like you do. Too many people don’t realize that vets are not always an option. So many times there are no vets within minutes of the farm. Don’t allow the negative people get to you. I will wait for more updates on the kidding. Prayers for all.
I LOVE WHEN THE KIDS RUN AND THE BABIES CHASE THEM 😍! Ur lil Girl is gonna be ur mini me!!! She's gonna take over goat farming I bet when She gets older!
Crystal if I had a goat in trouble, I would call you for advise. I have watched your videos and no one with more compassion and knowledge out there. You rock! No Debby downers here! Lol love your goats and I know you do too. Prayers for Lacy .
Are there no vets to call on during this time? I would be scared silly to have such responsibility like that placed on my shoulders! Hope all goes well. Gale Flowers
Oh man, now I'm just waiting to hear about Lacy and how things went!!! This waiting is torture, but it's nothing compared to what you went through. This is another great video Crystal, watching Daren and Emily play with the kids is so fun!!! Thanks for sharing with us again!!
Oh no. I hope all goes well. I have been checking back over and over for the next video. BTW you are so good with them. You can see in their eyes that they look to you for comfort.
My 30 years as a surgical nurse saw many of these in women. I wish I could be ther to help but you have my prayers and have heart , you have many prayers.🙏🏼💜🐐🐐🐐🐐
People need to realize unfortunately goats are not like dogs and cats. I see a lot of people saying “get a c-section” like it’s some simple easy fix. I don’t think they understand how life threatening that is to a goat. The procedure is extremely dangerous and sadly most goats don’t survive it. Goats don’t handle sedation well as it is and because the surgery is so invasive and traumatic it’s a long painful recovery for the doe. It is an absolute last resort in the goat world. Crystal is doing what’s safest for Lacy and the kids.
Yes, they give them a local and do the surgery while they are standing- at least that's how I saw it done. My doe still died a few days later.😔 my vet had students with him to observe... or else I wouldn't have put her through it.
Oranjmuse Meyer Sorry for your loss. 😔 I’ve seen videos of two being preformed for kids too large to fit through the pelvis, one vet knocked the doe out completely and the other just lightly sedated with a local. (Poor goat still cried with the local. 😭) Both does passed away after a day or two. I was surprised the vets always went in on the left side. So they had to move the rumen out of the way and fish around to get the kids on the right side. Seemed way more invasive than it needed to be, I hope I never have to have it done to my girls. It’s one of my worst fears as a breeder. 😣
I now understand why there hasn't been any update on Lacy until now. This is a doozy. I'm very sorry and I just hope everything went okay with her. My heart and thoughts are with you and your herd and I will of course be staying tuned. 💔
Crystal You are Phenomenal. Just Remain Calm Because I’ve been wanting you & I can tell that your Goats Feed off of your Energy. Your Energy is Very Positive By the Way 💛💛
Crystal, you and Lacy are so in my thoughts and prayers. Fingers are crossed for the both of you and for the best outcome possible... Sorry, what a year!!!
You got this...if you weren't nervous and anxious, that would be a problem. From what I have seen, when it's time to get down to business, your nerves go away! You're awesome!! Great animal husbandry!!
Your son and daughter are so cute with your kids, and I loved the comment I think my mom has a goat problem. (Transliteration: moms a goat hoarder lol). You keep all those cute babies 2 and 4 legged ❤️
I pray god give you the power and the drinks to help Lacie hopefully she will be fine and the babies will be great my prayers are with your Crystal I'm praying for Lacey to no you have the knowledge
Praying for a good outcome for Lacey and her babies.Love your channel and all the information you provide thank you for sharing.Maddie has some beautiful babies
A vet is not a "fix all" part of being into animal husbandry. You can be just as educated, or even more so of an expert with dedication and study. Just like a vet does. Breeding and keeping is just that, taking care of them and the problems! Do what you can and learn what's the best method. Keep your game face on.
Oh dear. Prayers that all goes well for you and this is over with soon. I know that you’ll do a fantastic job, as always. I love when your daughter runs with the kids. How they love her! It’s been a trying birthing season, but you did get many beauties! {{HUGS}}
Sorry to hear this. I hope all goes well. Last year was my bad kidding season. So I hope this will be good safe deliveries with healthy babies and Mama. Stay safe everyone. God Bless
Just wanted to say whoever edited this vid did a stand-up job. Particularly the transition from Emily milking the kids to you giving us an update on Lacy at the end - Was really impressed! Whatever happened with Lacy I know you will have done your absolute best for her, with all your love and soul. Sending well wishes from the uk!
Praying for her labor to start soon and for everything to work out for her and her babies. Hang in there my friend. You guys do a wonderful job with your animals. I will be back for updates.
I am so sorry for you guys and for Lacy! You've already been through so much this kidding season. I'll keep Lacy in my thoughts and prayers. May you be blessed with courage, wisdom, and a calm spirit in the midst of all this!
Prayers🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 that everything went smoothly, and Lacy girl is doing wonderful, and has made a full recovery from her ordeal. It's sad how many people had to deal with complications this kidding season. This is just not a good time for anyone right now, including animals. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
We have had does do this that r vary heavy with kids. Vet told us to just keep a close eye on them. He said that 90% of the time when they go into labor every thing will relax and there will be no problem and he was right. In my 20 year with goat we have had about 7 or 8 do it and never had to Intervene. Good luck! Hope everything goes well!
I am so sorry to hear of Lacy's complications. With anyone else I might be worried, but I know, if anyone can, you will pull her through this. You all can do this. I have a lot of faith in you. Stay strong.
You and your family have such compassion, care, concern for all of your furbabies. You are doing a fantastic job. You know your goats, what to do, etc. Some people just don't understand, when it comes to vets, especially during this crisis. It helps to talk to other goat professionals. God Bless! You can do this she's in good hands. Get Lodi "Look what I can do" for President 2020 to help cheer you on! Great video. Love seeing the kuds (human and furry) having great playtime. Prayers!
Ugh, moments like these I feel like giving up. Thankfully my kidding season went great with no complications. Excited for next year but dreading it at the same time
That had to have been just as frightening as having been told that your own labor is not progressing cause something is wrong. You are well equipped to handle it. Blessings
Omgosh Lacy girl! Prayers you can get it all done. This year is the year of many situations. You got this Crystal!! You have a great support team (family)!! We are also cheering you on. 🙌🏽👏🏾 I am so happy you also have such a great group of resources to confide in. I believe in you!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️ The kids with babies are are fun!! Hope Val’s kids are growing well and hopefully their teeth are growing in. :-)

Hi Crystal, good video as always. I'm really sorry to hear about Lacey. I know you have a larger herd these days, and you're planning on keeping a couple of your baby does, but it's hard to lose two proven breeding does in one year, especially Lacey. She's given you some good babies over the years, especially Lucky. Hang tough, girl, it's about all you can do. Keep us up to date, you know we're pulling for you. Take good care ...
Sorry to hear that. We dealt with our first vaginal and rectal prolapse from one of our does. Vet put in a paddle and that held things in, she did go into labor on day 146. she wouldn't fully dilate so needed help getting them out. We pulled them. You got this!
I think this is justa bad year for everyone. So many bad things this year...SOOOO many youtubers like you guys are having complications with labor and birth this year or stillborns. Praying you guys get through this with everyone safe and sound. Does a prolapse mean she will be culled from breeding...?
I was about to comment this same exact thing. This is just not a good year for anyone, animals included. So many complications with so many goats, or even ewes. Sad... But, as far as her being culled, the title does say, it's going to be Lacy's last labor, so, most likely she isn't going to get bred anymore. Which would be a smart decision to not breed her. Poor baby..... It's sad how many are having complications this year.
In rabbits we don’t have a choice. The doe has to be put down. There are no fixes that will last. In 18 years I only had it happen one time. I was unable to foster her kits and lost my favorite doe and her entire litter. I cried.
This was my first year having baby goats myself, and I had to go in and get 3 babies from one goat, lost one from a set of twins from another goat, and had a uterine torsion resulting in the death of the only baby which was a girl in a different goat.
Thank goodness she didn't have to have a c -sectioning or lose them !! Poor baby !! She looks so swollen too. Very sensitive area anyways and with a stuck kid or prolapse it's firing pain constantly.
Feel terrible with whats going on with lacy poor baby I this this year has been the most worse one yet as far as all the issues were facing I hope your goats will have their babies good hope you get a lot of girls your bombbarded with boys
27th comment! What an interesting kidding season this has been for you. And many other RUclipsrs I Watch have been having some difficulty with their animals birthing as wll. (Strange year it's been🤔) With many turns and loops, (literally.) Hopefully Lacey will be alright, I had one kid triplets a few weeks ago, and she had a prolapse a few days before she delivered, she popped them out in about 30 minutes. With no assistance needed!, with Lacey being one of the favorite goats I enjoy watching on here, I hope that everything will go quick and smooth. And fingers crossed for does! (That are in the right position!)🤞🙂
@@OceanSwimmer hey! (same person different account) she went into labor naturally. :) and had a relatively smooth labor. Got to does and a buck out of it. This was her second freshening, and she recovered really well after it, and hasn't seemed to skip a beat. And is Raising the triplets wonderfully. 😊
