I have seen the condition of many in nursing homes that are no longer able to do anything other than sit in a wheelchair or lie in a bed. That, to me, is worse than dying.

What if the alternative is being assisted out of a bed, placed in a wheelchair, pushed into a hallway, lunchroom, or sun room, where you sit there, unable to get up or do anything without assistance, and later on, wheeled back to your room and assisted back into bed. The life many spend in a nursing home frightens me more than "the alternative" to life.
