  • In this comprehensive test, we will examine the cooling performance and efficiency of the Dometic refrigerator. We will test the speed at which it cools food and beverages to the desired temperature, and how long it can keep them cold after the refrigerator has been turned off.
To begin the test, we will fill the refrigerator with a variety of food items and beverages, including hot and cold items. We will record the initial temperature of each item, and then turn on the refrigerator to start the cooling process. We will monitor the temperature inside the refrigerator over a period of time and record how long it takes for the items to reach the desired temperature.
Once the desired temperature is reached, we will turn off the refrigerator and monitor how long it takes for the temperature inside to rise above the safe food storage temperature. We will also test how well the refrigerator can maintain a consistent temperature over time, even when the outside temperature is fluctuating.
Overall, this test will provide valuable information for those who rely on a Dometic refrigerator for food storage while traveling or camping. By understanding the cooling performance and efficiency of the refrigerator, users can make informed decisions about how to best utilize it and plan for their food storage needs.

Unfortunately you put music over the video. I would be interested if the box is loud or silent. Can you tell me something about that? I ordered the CDF 2 36 and will return it because it is super loud and makes noisy sounds when it goes on.

He is not noisy. It is located in the car behind the front seats and inside the car there is a sleeping area. The head is almost at the box and there is no problem. When it is turned on at night, it just purrs gently - it vibrates.

@@Terracan4wd I ordered it and it is kinda loud. I dont know if it is normal or not. Its not just a gently purr.

@@Andrew-tl9gk Too bad I don't have a dB meter to measure the volume, I would have made a video. But I say, I'm a relatively light sleeper and I don't have a problem sleeping with my head next to the fridge, so it's on the floor and I have a mattress above the fridge.

@@Andrew-tl9gk Of course, the first cold is noisier, because the compressor runs continuously. And lasts longer, but after that there are no more problems when the refrigerator runs continuously. I'm a little afraid if the quality has deteriorated, I bought it in 2021.

I don‘t understand what you say, but that test does not make any sense. The water bottles contains a lot of energy which needs to be removed from the inside while cooling down by the cooling system. For the insulation test the water needs to have the stationary temperature from the cooling phase, otherwise a part of the energy which heats up the inside of the box comes from the water.

In particular, it is a test of the thermal insulation of the box, whether it can also be used as a passive refrigerator when you go to the beach and the like.
It is a practical test, i.e. a model situation that the refrigerator cools until the last minute, when you turn off the electrical power, if it keeps its temperature overnight (8 hours). Of course it cools cold from food/water.

@@Terracan4wd I understood, but to test the thermal insulation you need to cool down the material inside first to the adjusted temperature, because the water was not frozen indicates that it hasn‘t reached that temperature. To use it as a passive insulation box it is more efficient as more cool material with a high specific heat capacity is inside, e.g. water.
