Truly exquisite! Vivien Leigh was without doubt the most beautiful woman of the twentieth century and hugely talented as well. Her screen roles were few but all of them were great. She richly deserved her two oscars and had there been any justice she would have been awarded more. Thank you for posting these lovely images of a marvelous woman.
She was beautiful and, above all, a great actress. You know, she didn't change much, but there is something so different about her last portraits, though i can't quite place what - age aside, of course. Thank you for putting this together. I loved the music, bittersweet, I would describe it. And it was wonderful to see all this diferent pictures of her throughout her life.
@yippitydodah People are not mad, people are driven mad - by bullying, abuse, life....some people are very clever, thet dump all there bitterness on to others who then go mad. Viviene Leigh was just AMAZING!
These priceless photographs, appropriately put to beautiful music, are such a loving and august tribute, to an ELEGANT, BEAUTIFUL woman who gave one hundred percent of her versitle, uniquely executed talent, to the world.. ALWAYS one of my most revered actresses as she is to MANY, MANY thousands around the globe, she will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you so much, CeCe, for this nostalgic and rewarding presentation.. and I am proud to meet you, my dear.. (smile) God Bless! Teresa (Rideswithastorm).
@Altabeira I agree, she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. The brunettes do it every time; makes you wonder about all the bleached hair you see nowadays. What a lovely face she had.
I completely agree 100%! When u think back in the 30's and 40's they had no airbrushing, no digitally altered pictures, all u see is her in make-up, and it looks like light make-up at that, which highlights her really gorgeous features even more! I'm sure without make-up she would have been just as beautiful! Alot of the stars today couldn't get away with looking so naturally beautiful, so flawlessly?! She is a diamond in a vast ocean of stones!
Well, Vivien had it all, beauty, talent--but sometimes that isn't enough....her mental illness almost did her in, but she kept going with her iron will...there was no treatment for it then. She was very brave. Other actresses with this illness include Gene T., Rita H., Marilyn---and yet their disability added to their performances in a way.
Il fascino di queste meravigliose donne del passato svelano quanto possa essere grande la loro essenza. Come tutto lo splendore dell'universo possa racchiudersi in esse. In loro si nasconde l'arcano mistero dell'esistenza umana.
i love your videos...nice song choice..just an idea for a video..the waltz in GWTW the one vivien and clark dance to briefly..well apparently vivien would play that over and over whenever she was really down/in her depressed state...so it would be a great song for her video...just a suggestion...keep making videos! im glad to see someone who appreciates her for more than her beauty thanks!
I read somewhere that her mother's heritage was vague and in doubt. didn't she also have Indian blood line? a lot of mixing in her genes gave her beauty that is so rare. I can't find it in today's actresses and models. Vivien could've been a model too if she wanted to.
she was so god damn beautiful.so ahead of her time.and so talented.wish she was today in hollywood.Vivien belongs to top 3 greatest actresses ever lived.SCARLETT
Vivien Is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!! I heard that she had chronic depression and actually needed shock therapy for it. That's like, inhumane! She was an amazing actress and died way to soon. Rest in Peace. Miss Leigh. :(
Thank you for this wonderful video!! She was amazing!! I saw most of her films and she was always so professional and beautiful!! "Gone with the Wind" is still so popular today and she was picture perfect in every scene. What a lady!
Nice video of Vivien Leigh. I always thought my mother favored her with her fair skin, dark hair, and beautiful green eyes. Thank you for posting~~Cindy
of course!!! she´s an amazing actrz, and so much beautiful woman.... and i would like to could see all her movies, would be so so so great. thanks to u. hugs Leo!
Loved this!!! Cecelia , your great grandmother would of been very proud of you. My daughter and I love watching all of Viviens films. My new granddaughter is named after her.
What a wonderful tribute to an amazing and exquisitely beautiful actress! I loved this! She was loved, admired and respected by millions - I hope she knew this.
BRAVO!!! Excellent video, and music well chosen!! two thumbs up, my friend. This must be one of the most touching videos I've seen in RUclips so far. It's like a biography thru images.
She was a rare beauty the kind that captures the viewers and comes along only once in a lifetime or so. Are you of the last name Leigh? Are you related to her? Do you know her ethnicity? Thanks
No criticism: you have done a lovely job. I would thought 2:59 and 3:37 were earlier. Did you check them by copyright date? Again, I am not criticising - it is a beautiful video.
@LillyTing Yeah I read that too. only her mother would know that for sure. possibility is there because her family lived in India and throughout history, people have interbred freely and geneticists have shown that genes all over the world are closer to being identical then we would think. but without a doubt, she was one of the best looking human ever. wish she was alive today.
Thank you so much for this! I am going to cry! Where in heavens name did you get all the pictures and the music! YOU are a true Vivian Fan! I could cry and I thank you so much...she is such a lovely one for us to remember and recognize from time to time. Thank you so much Miss CeCeleigh! What is the name of the song? That picture of her on the steps at Tara...Oh how breathtaking! Let us remember her every Nov. 4th her birthday!
@xmoaningturtlesx That eyebrow expression was her trademark. I don't know how she did it, but it's completely her own. I think I've only seen one other actress try to do (don't know who.) it, and I was pissed. That look is hers, and hers alone. :)
Oh my god, how beautiful she is at 1:00. I simply adore Vivian, I do, and out of all the many lovely shots I have seen of her, that one just touches my heart as to have captured, something a bit more authentic, then her thearter like presence in many of the pictures. I had to go back to it several times. I wish you would have left it on a bit longer, I do. None the less, Thank you very much for this post. Oh and what lovely music also, just lovely it is!
Ship of Fools (1965), The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone (1961), The Deep Blue Sea (1955), A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), Anna Karenina (1948), Caesar and Cleopatra (1945), That Hamilton Woman (1941), Waterloo Bridge (1940), 21 Days (1940). And movies before "GWTW"; Sidewalks of London (1938), A Yank at Oxford (1938), Storm in a Teacup (1937), Fire Over England (1937), The Village Squire (1935), Gentlemen's Agreement (1935), Things Are Looking Up (1935), Look Up and Laugh (1935)
You're right. Its an equal opportunity illness. And I ought to know as I am a man. I will say that women CAN be somewhat more emotional and the illness is seen more. Men TEND to hide it in--or retreat into a bottle--hence its somewhat harder to detect. But there IS help. Helps to have an advocate!
Nah, Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor, Vivien Leigh and Monica Bellucci are the most beautiful. Grace Kelly only looked good in certain angles and her friends said she was plain without makeup.
Vivien Leigh was truly🌹 GORGEOUS & talented. A natural beauty. God🙏was in a good mood when he created Miss Vivien Leigh. Now a days a lot of women get enhancement to look pretty.
@Deannie21 She was no such thing. Her father was a Yorkshireman.Hartley is a very common Yorkshire name and her mothers maiden name was Robinson. The French Irish stuff was fabricated by MGM/Selznick International to make her more acceptable to the U.S audience.
It's an interesting selection of photos and paintings. You did not focus on Scarlett all that much or on Blanche, which I found interesting. Some of the photos I have never seen before. Are compleltely sure that they are in chronological order? No criticism, just curious. Many thanks for posting and sharing. :-)
Absolutely beautiful woman!! Thank you for sharing🌷🌺🌻🙏
The most beautiful actress ever. I love her. Loved the pictures and the music was wonderful. Thank you.
She is the most beautiful and talented of them all.

Her beauty deepened as she matured, but so did the sadness in her eyes. A unique & lovely woman.

I retract......what beautiful songs (choices). Madness can be beautiful, but never the other way around.

@gluntford
I'm almost positive that it's from Fire over England (which is posted here on RUclips by the way)
She had some major health issues and life could have been a bit kinder towards her--but what an artistic legacy for us all---
thanka again
Vivien left that convent a total innocent of the adult world, learned it all the hard way. I believe.
thanks god for you

@Charmedfan2010 It's not an expression; one brow was higher than the other. It did nothing to detract from her beauty.
I see that she signed her name Vivian..not Vivien.
What is the portait at 1:18 from? Beautiful.
She's simply brilliant in A Streetcar Named Desire. Although I much prefer the play over the movie.
Очень люблю эту замечательную и прелестную актрису. Жаль рано ушла из жизни. Светлая, Вечная Память!
Vivian Leigh and Grace Kelly , the two most beautiful women born in the world !
Nah, Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor, Vivien Leigh and Monica Bellucci are the most beautiful. Grace Kelly only looked good in certain angles and her friends said she was plain without makeup.
