Since we swapped out the stock front seat belts in our RZR XP4 1000 to the Basic Off Road Harnesses, we wanted to install matching belts in the rear. As the rear passengers are typically children we decided to go with the Basic Off Road 2 Inch 4 Point Harness. The harnesses come with automotive style latches that are much simpler to operate and the narrower webbing won’t smother the kids. Installation of the harnesses is simple and requires just a few common tools. The hardest part of the installation was converting the stock inner belt mounts. From the factory the inner mounts sit perpendicular to the outer mounts. We fabbed up some twist brackets from 90 degree seat belt tabs that we hammered flat and then twisted in a bench vice. This allows the belts to bolt in parallel with the outer mounts and with the brackets in place, the belts can be installed simply using a commonly available seat belt hardware kit that included the tabs.
