- 'Oh it's a Lovely War!' is a British song from the end of the Great War. It satirically recounts life as a soldier in the British armed forces in Europe, telling of all the rations and payment earnt in their service. Each verse says another lie about the life in the western front's trenches, followed at the end of each paragraph with another soldier's disbelief, 'What?' 'Liar' 'Wretch!'
During World War I, British soldiers on the Western Front endured harsh conditions. Trench warfare dominated the landscape, with soldiers spending prolonged periods in muddy, rat-infested trenches. These trenches were often flooded, being unsanitary and uncomfortable. Trenches experienced extreme weather conditions, from freezing to stifling heat. Despite these hardships, British forces along with the Entente defeated the Germans and Turks.

Nice find! i find it absurd today how petty a lie is, ask any man that served or any man older than 50 in a club and they'll tell you. Truth evades legends, but a lie told always sticks. My point being, it still meant something -even as an insult, when recoded.

It’s obviously depressing, it’s about life as a soldier in one of the most cruel wars ever fought on European soil. And Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Mosley, and others, any praising of them is quite nasty, there a massive difference between the British empire, and the Soviet empire. Figures like Stalin are notorious for famines and corruption, along with a cult of personality, and murders of government officials, and the desolation of Eastern Europe.
The Bri'ish Empire was pretty awfull to. Famines in Ireland and India ,Apartheid in south Africa, killing natives in America, creating the most godly AWFULL borders in the world, bringing them "Civilazation".
There is no "morally correct" empires
