Question did you find a fuel filter in this car or is it just a pump-filter intergrated part.

I have been lucky so far I think so far only my door handles and my window regulator clip has broke twice. I have a 2013 with 29,000 miles on it but they are expensive if you have to get stuff fixed.

My 1999 Miata is similar as it comes out from the top after removing a access panel. Its been a few years but it seems like the connections were really easy. Why don't they make a access cover into the bed on pickups?

@@haffrods7055 My wife has the same car, and I've been commuting in it lately. The hubcaps are gone, and the fuel tank is getting harder to fill in under 10 minutes. It's nice to see that I'm not alone with the problems 👍

Hey, THANKS so much for this!! I’ve got a Fiat I completely adore, and you probably just saved me lots of time/money for labor. You were thorough about the tiny details & parts. Pretty sure now I can do this myself, as I’m rather handy & good with tools. Anyways - big appreciation!!
Ps: I’ve also been considering I might remove both entire back seats in my 500, as they’ve been folded down most the time I’ve had this car. I never have any reason for more than 1 passenger & often transporting stuff for projects, back there in the trunk. It’s surprisingly spacious for such a small car, but it’d be nice to have a little more room... did it seem like it would be somewhat doable? Could you guess, from the way you had to remove the bottom half of the seats? Any warning you could offer, about a potential problem I might encounter? Anyways, thanks again!! This was very helpful!!

McKenzie, the fuel pump job is super simple for anyone. On the rear seat removal, that is a good idea. The only thing you will notice with seats removed is lots of road noise. Buy a box of sound deadening mat and stick it to the floor. Makes a HUGE difference. An inexpensive one to use is Noico Car Sound Deadening Mat. Part # SNL2. I think it's at Amazon

@@haffrods7055 my daughter’s idles just a bit too low and sometimes cuts out if an electrical load is applied. Like the headlights or even turning the steering. If it does cut out it’s hard to start again. It could be the pump. Thanks for your reply.

@@raftonpounder6696 First clean the ground on the battery clamp and make sure it's tight. Ours had corrosion and when I replaced the battery, the clamp wouldn't get super tight. It's like the new battery ground post was smaller than the original Fiat battery one. A bad ground can cause issues like that

Thanks for the video on the fuel pump. I just changed ours same year as your wife's. Car still won't start...it sounds like it wants to. Any suggestions? Did you have to reset it or anything???

I actually did clean the battery terminals. The negative cable was corroded bad underneath and a little loose. This might have reset stuff since I unhooked it.

@@haffrods7055 you were definitely on the right track with the battery. I still had the battery hooked up during this process. The issue was the anti lock was on...the key fob I was using wouldn't clear it. I had to switch keys and bomb...it fired right up.
Your video was so easy to follow and I was able to pause it step by step....thank you again!

If it's any 8-valve engine, it can be also bad valve clearance (lash), adjustable with shims.
Hydraulic lash is in 16V units.
