Straight black men already have enough organizations out there trying to tarnish their image and it doesn't help to be associated with that. The gay smear is pretty deadly in that it will hurt your chances with straight woman all around okay.
The first thing the black community can do to start this movement is to plain and simply stop listening to the music. Don't buy it, stream, download, or support the puppet artist in any kind of way. And don't let your kids listen to listen to it. Instead of listening to that junk while driving listen to jazz. That's how I started boycotting that nonsense they insists on promoting. Black gay men are not supporting DaBaby in droves. Look at the audience supporting him. I’m pro-black woman all day, but what can we do when they’re twerking and rapping along? If you support it, you like it. That’s my issue. The LGBTQ community usually is very selective about support. Black women need ti do the same. Stop going to the shows, stop streaming, stop it all. That’s how it ends. You can’t complain about getting disrespected if YOU continue to support him. If the LGBTQ community and black women come together to END him, then he can continue to do music for the audience that love to tear each other apart and will self destruct on their own. But for my ladies at Rolling Loud, who were dancing and throwing their phones up… that’s your man?

I agree. Not only Da Baby, but countless other rappers have discounted us for decades but issues tend to get taken seriously once it affects them personally.
Let's ask a serious question though: Were BLACK WOMEN outraged? BW/girls and white kids keep these rappers rich...cause it sure isn't straight black men. We've allowed this mess tbh. Now that I'm older, I know better. And Black LGBTQ are not our enemy anyway. If we actually merged our voices instead of against each other we could amplify one another. And I'm a Black woman. A proud one...but let's stop the bs. And stop centering ourselves every second too.
@@Yespls888 Yes many black women were and have been outraged by Hip Hop culture's misogyny, sexism, objectification and homophobia. Same thing like now, they didn't care. And because they have the money and power, a lot of voices are silenced.
I understand where Funky is coming from and agree with most of what he said, but please don’t paint the narrative that the only people getting killed by police are the thuggish baggy pants wearing men. There are many black people including women who have been killed by the police who don’t present that way. Also, why wasn’t anyone saying anything when he was abusing and disrespecting women for years?
Don't ever be afraid or intimidated when you want to speak for what is right. All that matters is that you're using your voice now. Many blessings to you.
Thank you Claudia pointing out how it was done to black women for years and we got none of this outrage and for pointing out that you don't have to be part of the community to understand or empathize
But the issues is that alot of black women (obviously not all,) love that type of music. Has anyone ever read the lyrics to Back that Azz Up? It's just as misogynistic as the music coming out today. And till this day, 20+ years since it came out, it a song that filled the dance floor when it comes up. Very rarely I meet a sista that actually listen to social conscious rappers.
I understand that Funky Dineva is upset over DaBaby...But he is way off on who the police stops. The police stops upstanding black men too...not just the saggy pants wearing guys. He need to check his facts. No I don't agree with DaBaby....don't even appreciate his art. Dineva is spot on about these young rappers.
Just like Claudia said “I’m not a gay man and I got upset about what da baby said about gay men” but funky couldn’t sympathize with what was said about women and be equally outraged? That’s very very telling and from this day forward I’m burning the cape for everybody except black women like me because at the end of the day everybody is only interested in the thing that effects them and their community and from now on I will do the same.🤷🏾♀️
💯 glad she said that! They pick when too be offended. Now he want to dissociate from the black community (sound like he was a Dababy fan). ☕️
I like funky, but he's made disparaging remarks about the smell of a woman's vagina too and refer to women as "fish". So the only time he gets upset is when disparaging remarks pertains to the LBGQT community? He does contradict himself , but he also make a lot of valid points.
No one cares when the anger and violence is aimed toward another black man. Only comments that offend women and the LGBTQ community are taken seriously.
I really am disgusted hearing a blk man say he no longer wants to be a part of our community and see so many supposedly educated blk people jump right on the bandwagon and cosign his nonsense. There is absolutely no comment any rapper can make that would make me want to jump ship. His elitist rant on respectability politics proves his level of arrogance to assume that he's somehow above police brutality. One lesson that Que may learn the hard way is that no matter how much you think you're above Da' Baby, both of you are blk men in America. Gay privilege will only get you so far. He is subject to the same treatment as the rest of us regardless of how much he wishes to escape. His rant was just as ignorant as Da' Baby's. What makes us so quick to agree with people who say they don't want to have anything to do with us?

And it’s not just DaBaby, it’s any black person man or woman with the power of a massive audience that seeks to divide all in the name of money. @@the_mulattos so what you're saying is that Da Baby's antics are making it worse for straight black men. MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY
