Hey! The second archer is me. Long story short: i was shooting 50meters and a guy comes to chat; i take out the arrow while talking to the guy; after he left i forgot i had no arrow nocked and i dry fired my bow. It was a Diamond Infinite Edge, its string was pretty used and thus it snapped. I was lucky i didn't hurt myself. The worst two things i feared were losing an eye and cutting off a tendon. Thank God i was ok. I accept all the criticism and admit it was all my fault. Since then i have moved on. Kudos for the video! 💪💪💪
I've been archery hunting for over 30 years. I had a bow that exploded in my hand due to the cable stop slowly wearing out the cable under the serving. It was at the very bottom - never say and I didn't inspect the cables - it was a very small abrasion and I'm not sure I would've even seen it. And, here is the even scary thing - I know better, bow technician, the whole 9-yards. I just got lazy! I never got to shoot the bow; the cable broke at full draw and everything blew up in my hand - I thought I broke my arm.... luckily for me the bow exploded away from my face and towards the target. Safe to say, I'm constantly reviewing, inspecting and changing d-loops, etc. That scared the crap out of me - and, it hurt like hell!!! Love the vids, Josh.... Can't wait for my new Beast board heads!!!!
Back in the ninetys two friends in a park in Grant's Pass Or. were drinking and decided one of the would shoot a beer can of his buddies head with his hunting bow. He ended up shooting his buddy in the left eye and the broadhead lodged in the back of his skull. He was life flighted to Portland where I took the x-rays. Surgery was done and he lived. Very lucky he only lost his eye. The broadhead only missed a main artery buy 2 mm. If it would have cut that artery he would have died. True story.
@@SavagelandHunting people have had worse. Like a guy had a knife lodged in his brain and lived, people get shot in the head and make relatively full recoveries as well, and I don't mean survived in a coma til they pass away, I don't count that
I bought my first bow from a pawnshop. The first time firing it with a target arrow the thing exploded and had to get stitches on my forehead and my wrist. It was an older Martin Firecat Pro X from 2008 I believe. I didn't give up archery I just gave up buying from pawn shops. I was young and in high school with a low budget at the time. I was also desperate to get some venison in the freezer, lol.
First deer I ever drew on was a small 8 point and I did that finger thing when I let down and sliced my finger open with the broadhead lol. Must've been a bad habit from when I was younger shooting bows in the backyard.
Hi @Bowmar Bowhunting I just started my own hunting channel @pwhoutdoors. And I can honestly say you are one of the few youtubers that inspired me to start my channel, so thank you josh from the bottom of my heart.
First clip happen to me once, immediately I saw he didn't have sport glasses I knew he was gonna get hit, glasses bounce in the rope, making the shot go wrong and the pulley go crazy
Oh man, the punch in the face. I've lost count of how many times I've heard of that happening. So many people don't understand how dangerous it can be to pull back on an unfamiliar bow, especially when a lot of people don't know what they are doing. Even a traditional bow will explode, especially a higher draw weight. Sometimes people just get mad when you try to explain why there is a need to be careful. It is especially frustrating when it has to do with arrows and going over why an arrow needs to be spined correctly to the draw weight of the bow.
I experienced similar to Josh's d-loop failure. Except my hinge release hook broke. 75# draw. Only left me staggered with a bloody nose. I might have broken it slightly. Very lucky compared to what could have happened. Now i draw a couple inches away from my face before anchoring in
@@pwhoutdoors Wow that is so cool that you're a bowhunter. You are so cool. Probably because he was distracted from filming himself and speaking to the camera. Its really not as hard to do as you'd think. Once you're at full draw you cant really tell the difference.
The shot at around 5 minutes where the bow explodes, the arrow doesn't go anywhere. It was a dry fire. Watch the vanes of the arrow, it just drops down. He probably pulled it off nock when he put his finger up there.
Watched a guy shoot a car tire and the arrow flew back at him and the nock stuck him in the trapezius. Another guy had a sting break and wrap around his arm opened him up like a bull whip.
Change your string every year. Forget the loop and shoot right off the string. When the serving is worn change the string. Use string wax, dry strings make bad stings.
check the new video from the channel "All of archery" that guy had a horrible accident, the arrow shattered (apparently new) and pierced his arm and hand, nerves damaged, archery is dangerous, but so are are all powerful ranged weapons.
I think the guy was fingering the arrow to get it back in rest and torqued his grip and derailed it. But also apple and arrow is a real clip and that guy for sure died, sad but can be used to prevent others from dumb stuff. Crazy. You caught your truck on fire, I have a hunting story that happened to me this year that would needs to be on a podcast and won’t forget
Assuming, dangerous thing to do, that the bow was in proper working order and no string or cable frays, if I were the first guy, I'd have smashed that bow against a concrete wall until there was nothing left of it and never touch a bow again. I wear glass and I've had a string fail at full draw, it's scary so I feel for that guy. Luckily, nothing happened except some whelps on my arm but still.....
Life is cheap, in Russia. [😵🙅♂🤦♂ Never shoot at or in the general direction of someone else.] (You should also see the way they drive, or the structures they free-climb on.)

WAIT when that guy grabbed the can off the table, the guy with a bow held it pointed at him when he went right in front of the judges LMAO
Please do more of these! This was awesome!
Editors, we need more of these! And a place where the fans can send clips to react to. This was great
Do an hour of Josh's fail please I am soooooooooooooo curious lol😂

What about his brain

As far as I know he had no permanent brain damage
@@SavagelandHuntingit was never proven he had a brain 🧠 that was a baseless accusation.
😂😂😂the string was still on his quick release lmao 😂
Love All of your videos you are a great RUclipsr
The bow that you were wondering about was an old alpine archery bow
I was going to say the same thing. I have an alpine and it looks very similar.
Missed whitetail shots be a good one to react to.

I had a D loop fail when the cam was at its peak and sent an arrow across the range and punched myself in the face 😂
We need a video of your fails lol

This was awesome 😂
6:17 “this guy has no idea how lucky he is.”
Uh yeah I’m pretty sure he knows exactly how lucky he is.
#1 happened to me beginning last season 😂
The 'Russia got Talent' Vid is not real. It was an advertise for the drink in the can.
I have 8 stitches in my face from destringing my bow 😂
i like this style of video
I can relate to the last part. My D loop didn’t break but my release malfunctioned and I punched myself in the face. That sucked.
did the same last week lol sucked bad but i did not learn my lesson and did it twice that release is now in the trash
That was great. Yes do more of them. Very entertaining.
If you have yet to have a bow blow up in your hand you haven’t lived yet lol the bows from the 80’s and 90’s were wild
A Bear Legion exploded in my hands 😮!!
I have been shotting a bow for about 6 months now and had my release on fail and it totally made my face go numb..
I have one and it hasn’t been touched since 97 I think
Need a trophy room tour!
yes
First clip happen to me once, immediately I saw he didn't have sport glasses I knew he was gonna get hit, glasses bounce in the rope, making the shot go wrong and the pulley go crazy
I got my first compound bow a little while ago it’s time to get a restring any advice to avoid any of those outcomes?
Just met bowman at the Iowa deer classic what a guy so nice and definitely loves his fans
Was Sarah nice too?
@@CrimsonRose93 of course she was they were both amazing people

First sign you are hunting for money….. reaction videos😂
Gonna be good!!
That bow that blew up and you didn't know what kind it was, I believe it was a Hoyt from around the 2010 era, maybe a TurboHawk.
Pretty sure that's a alpine fireball that blew up.
I experienced similar to Josh's d-loop failure. Except my hinge release hook broke. 75# draw. Only left me staggered with a bloody nose. I might have broken it slightly. Very lucky compared to what could have happened. Now i draw a couple inches away from my face before anchoring in
Dudes dead!😂
near end, was that a flash of fire??? like a dig, when you burned your truck up?
We need more
how did you get your dog to recover deer antlers? could you make a video showing us how you taught your dog to recover antlers?
Pretty positive the bow that exploded is an old Hoyt protec. I think?
The bow that blew up was an Alpine Silverado
To be fair to the second guy, he thought he had an arrow on the bow. It was not an intentional dryfire.
how could the guy be so dumb to forget to put the arrow on the bow string and i am a bow hunter.

It seems the first guy un-nocked his arrow with his face on fletching when he was doing the triple pump
Lol freaking epic
Worst thing I’ve happen is my D loop broke when I drew my bow on a rabbit 😂, it hurt
It was good bro

The leaf blower and the truck on fire.
Bow that blew up with his finger on arrow was an old high country
Kinda makes me think of gun fails with Brandon Herrera
Seems like it actually did not kind of did
At 6:12 looks like a old Hoyt
And the winner of this weeks Darwin Award is
I set a release real hot and learned it was a little too hot half way through a 3D shoot when I caught 72 pounds rights on the button.
Anyone know the movie @2:17 ??

I hate double clutching my bow when iv been shootin a lot and im tired
See you tomorrow at Iowa Deer Classic
I had a yoke snap on me at full draw. I was pretty lucky cause it really didn’t explode.

my d-loop broke last year on my ventum pro 70#. punched myself. then a month later the cams collapsed mid draw, got hit again...
Dude. Did that guy actually die?
Cool video, just needs to be longer.
Hey can we see your trophy room!?
Bow #4 is an Alpine
When are you going to announce the Africa trip away if it is still on
The bow is an Alpine Archery. No longer a company. The guy has done bow reviews for many many years.
Looks like an old Martin. Hard to tell
The video of the archers in the "Russia Has Talent" clip was rated false by Snopes.
When will you have more bow hunting big bucks
Haha
