Full of magic, great performance, thank you " Pau NG" for this post. Ernest Weinrauch was a German Benedictine priest and composer. Although Father Weinrauch did not have any of his works printed, his music was known far beyond the borders of his homeland. The music of Father Weinrauch and those around him largely has its own musical aesthetic. Often it does not coincide with the much better known, so-called “ Viennese Classic ”. It often goes other ways and has more in common with the music of the “sensitive style” of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788) or the “ Mannheim School ” from the time of Elector Carl Theodor von der Pfalz (1724-1799). In addition, the influences are in Salzburg - Johann Michael Haydn (1737-1806) unmistakable, standing with the Upper Swabian kingdom monasteries in contact. Weinrauch's earliest datable composition to date, the setting of Psalm 129 De profundis , has the title of the year 1761.

The works I've listened by Weinrauch are really wonderful! It is easy to understand why his music was known beyond his homeland borders!

Beautiful, graceful music, not at all severe or boring, but entirely inspired by divine glory, as only a man of religion could compose. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Lecce in Southern Italy, the so-called Baroque City and congratulations for the painting by G.P. Panini, I know the church of SS . Apostles in Rome very well .

This mass is more of a classical mass by Johann Baptist Wanhal and a composer just nine years older than a pre-classical piece.
There are many similarities with Jan Křtitel Wanhal's Mass Solemsis in E-flat major and F minor in F minor, and I think it's no wonder that it's called Wanhal's song, especially because of how to use brass instruments.
I love Wanhal, but if the composer listens to this mass without knowing it as Ernestu Weinrauch, I can only say that it is similar to Wanhal's work.
It's a really fulfilling mass, and I think it's sad that we can't pay attention to the composer who said this.
In any case, the composer's work, which I didn't even know, came to Pau NG's hands and was revealed one after another to classical music fans, and Pau NG showed the achievements of the buried composer. I am keenly aware that he is a preacher who tells me.
In addition, my comment is a translation of Japanese to English by Google Translate, and if it is translated into unsightly English, you can think that it is due to the performance of Google Translate and my lack of English ability. ..

@@Reciclassicat Following your link, I noticed that "Canto" on the title page of the manuscript means "Soprano." In abbreviating this title ("Mass for Soprano") you don't give enough credit to the rest of the choir in their performance of this fine music.

Then is my fault. I thought 'canto' meant the italian meaning of canto.
