I had a part-time job at Walmart as a cashier during the Christmas season and I have a new respect for Walmart cashiers. You are right, but what you have to understand that ever since the extreme cuopon show came out everything has changed. Even fake coupons are circulating. None of the workers at a particular store aren't informed if this situations occurs, they should do this or that. Almost all cashiers and other employees don't know that Walmart or any other retails get paid for them regardless if they've been used or not.
One time I filled a cart with frozen pizzas that were b1g2. That's 33% off effectively. Cashier and her manager argued that the deal meant Buy 1 and Get 2. They were basically telling me that their B1G1 offer was identical to their B1G2 offer. So yeah, I left dozens of pizzas at the register. They were super busy at the front end too, and those pizzas stayed at the front end for at least the 45 minute I waited for my bus. I did this on purpose, noticing the pizza issue earlier that same day.
@DeMocxracy, Wal-Mart is one of the few stores that allows overage, so you can actually make money from your coupons, especially on trial sizes. So for the carrots that's why she didn't have to enter 74 cents. Anything over the price is either given as cash or applied to the basket price.
I have to say I actually quite like my WalMart, the cashiers are usually very nice and my WalMart actually has the coupon policy taped up on every single register so that the customer and the cashier can refer back to it at all times. It makes things so much easier.
Not everywhere doubles coupons so you have to find a good sale and use coupons and stock up on those items while they are on sale. If you know of an upcoming sale you can buy multiples of a certain coupon online from ebay or a coupon clipping service to get coupons, many will ship the next day because they know you need them quickly. I live in an area that doesn't double coupons either.
Having the Wal-Mart policy in hand is a smart idea in case of any questions but it's shame that a CUSTOMER has to educate the cashier who is EMPLOYED by Wal-Mart and should know the policies.
They don’t teach you the store policies, beside returns maybe and things like that. Experienced cashiers probably know how to handle coupons though. It’s a minimum wage job, they don’t have them learn the handbook by heart.
I dont have a Walmart close to me but the 2 times I have gone I have been paid to take the items of the store I had 1.50 chapstick product and they are only .98 cents there so a little bit of a mm. You had great savings.

I like Target better - but I enjoy this channel, and coupons I am into again. I used to do it back in the 60's with family. I read a few books on Amazon about it, one was Coupon Hacker - which kind of turned me back onto coupons.

Didn't watch the whole video, don't know if this was explained in it or not. But yes, I've worked retail for a while now and some people go on certain websites and pay like a dollar to get 50 fake coupons printed. They usually work at the register, so its the cashier's job to read the coupon and make sure its supposed to actually be real.
It's a general rule in FL that all stores are not allowed to double coupons. The only exception is Kmart when they have their "double coupons" events, but that only happens like a week at a time twice a year. Sucks to live in FL.

Thank you, great video. Would you please do an extreme couponing video at the Dollar Tree? I have such problems at the Dollar Trees in my city. You totally never know when a coupon will be accepted until you checkout. I can show them their policy and they just say, "if the register won't accept it we won't take it" even though everything matches perfectly with the item i'm trying to buy. I match my coupons with your deals on your website and most of the time i can not use my coupons.
I was buying my son some sippy cups with the Made in the USA coupon and for some reason it kept saying that I didn't buy the specified item, so the cashier manually entered it. Then again I have had other people at walmart tell me if it doesn't scan they can't take it so I think it depends on who you get.

can someone please explain how people get like 20 bottles of product but some coupons state things like limit one coupon per transaction / and max of 2 identical Coupons or no more than 2 identical can be used for the same product per household per day
Turns out a lot of people go to different stores. For instance, the Dollar Tree is an easy way to stockpile for free, but you can only use 4 like coupons on the same item per day, and 2 printable coupons per day. However, most people have 4-5 dollar trees within a 5 mile radius.
Katarina Quillin I was told a long time ago that a "transaction" is what they call the PRODUCT, not the action of purchasing the product. So what they mean by One Coupon per Transaction is you can not use one coupon in each item. If you have one bottle of ketchup and TWO coupons for that ketchup, you can only use one coupon. But if you have 10 bottles and 10 coupons you can use all 10. Always check the store's policy on that though

This has happened to me in the past and is the reason I don't shop at Walmart. Very frustrating when they don't scan and they aren't allowed to type it in, which other stores do. I prefer Target for my couponing.
A few things that they did not go over is that some coupons have a limit whereas it can state no more than two identical coupons per trip etc. Also, with the carrots, you are not allowed to take out a coupon for more than the price of the product; this meaning the checker should have entered the coupon for $0.74 because those coupons are for up to $xx.xx. Lastly, most ( 85%-90%) coupons actually exclude trial and travel sized products. -Cashier for too long.
Wal-Mart has changed their scanners to not read the internet coupons. I have this issue every time different Wal-Marts. If it doesn't scan..we can't accept it..is the scripted line. After slamming your coupon on the scanner & crinkling it up. But when I take the same coupon to Albertsons, Tom Thumb, Kroger, CVS, Walgreens, El-Rancho, Fiesta, Dollar General, Dollar Tree..no problem.
The problem I always have at Wal-Mart is when I gave them a coupon with a picture of the product on it and it says clearly "any one item (of that particular brand) they say "sorry it's not pictured on it so we can't accept it." I try to explain that this little coupon can not show All the items this brand makes( for instance hair color, if you pick out blonde and the coupon shows brunette) they refuse it. They do this over & over again so after a few times I now shop at Target! They have no training not even the managers!
I just want to say when shopping at ANY store, besides looking at the cost per ounce, pay attention to the price on the shelf, in the circular AND at the register. Many times I have gotten to the register and things have come up at the wrong price. Sure, you might have to wait for the price to be verified, but it's worth it if it's going to save you money.
so I just went shopping at walmart and took some coupons with me, thinking i was gonna save a bunch my total was 21dollers and something cents my final total after coupons was still too high i think i had to pay 17 dollars and some cents plus the cashier said and even asked the manager for one my my coupons that i use the product came with one dollar off and one that i had printed at home and when she scan it it bipped she said that i couldnt use it because it was printed from a computer i told her yes we can use it but still the manager said that they could only use the one that the product had and i couldnt use the other one, I don't get it yet, im new to this couponing thing, HELP!!!!! crazy coupon ladys on how I can start saving some money plz.
Most of the very nice Wal*Marts I've been to were in other states--I live in NJ, and most of the ones here tend to be less neat, clean, well-stocked, well-run, and well-maintained. I think I've gone to beautiful ones in Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Tennessee, Georgia, and a few other states.
If you just coupon for items you need you save some money.. Otherwise you end up in shopping frenzy and buy items you really don't need .. Couponing is good but extreme couponing some times makes you spend more.. Make a list of items you need and coupon only those .. Don't buy for the sake of coupons.. I coupon for body lotions, shampoo, food stuff , diapers and wipes ..other than that I don't get into make up sectionor so because I feel you are just forced to spend for something you don't require
Most cashiers at Walmart would not have been this great with the coupons... nor would I have just stood there chatting with my friend not paying attention while the cashier scans them. If you are crazy couponer... you pay attention to your cashier!
there is a video on RUclips talking about someone having problems with using coupons and the lady had a print off of the coupon policy and the Store Manager I think or someone just up and took it from her and told the person that they are not suppose to have it...
My local walmart didn't give me problems with my coupons. If one didn't scan the guy just typed that one in... I was kinda sad though when I found out that they don't double like my local grocery store does.

@Jessica engle just because she only showed one advil doesn't mean she only purchased one, if you were really paying attention to the cashier you would have noticed she scanned two not one... Plus the coupon was $3/2 and the price for them was 1.84 so it would make scence getting $3 off💁
our walmart makes a huge issue with coupon usage...isn't worth my time. even when I've showed the cashier the coupon policy, she'll still argue with me about it. have not shopped there for over a year now, and will not shop there again.

So frustrating. if it wasn't for those things it'd be a great way to save for me and my family. there are several websites. you can get them in your sunday newspaper. i pay 50 cents a week for my newspaper press enterprise to deliver to me. you sometimes get them in the mail as well or go online search top 10 websites. they will give you a bunch of websites. i hope this helps. goodluck im new as well. i been trying to learn, but it seems like most san bernardino stores dont accept double coupons nof

I just think getting something for free sake is not responsible but I guess you can always barter the unnecessary items. When it comes to food I feed my family I don't do GMO so it narrows what we would take into our foods..

Of all the stores I coupon at, Wal-Mart is the worse store for me to coupon at. Even when I have their coupon policy with me, the CSM and cashier tend to change it a little just so I don't get to use my coupons there.
Can i apply coopons while using the Walmart on-line delivery app? I use a wheelchair and find it easier to have groceries delivered, rather than trying to lugg multiple bags on the back of my chair, or trying to take our local paratransit service(your limited to 3 bags- a pain in the a$$!!)

Just still don’t understand how you can get more than one of something with same coupon, when they normally limit you to one per coupon, and most stores limit one coupon (the same coupon of course) to one order.... so how can you get multiples??? What site do you get the produce coupons? I rarely see them on coupons.com. Also what should do if the cashier says the printable coupons won't work? This happens several time at Dollar tree and Dollar general. Both place I was in proper protocol with the coupon and store policy. Please advise.

I hate using Q @ WM. 1ce a manager said a Q for $ off 1 wasn't allowed on twin packs. To me 1 barcode is 1 item. She pushed it through. Another time a cashier said I couldn't used my Q because item wasn't same as pictured & when I pointed out to her it said ANY she still said it had to be of the 1 pictured. Had same cashier wks later give me the $1 off but didn't put Q in drawer she just crumpled it & through it away! Managers heard about her both times. Poor lady is probably without a job now.

If a coupon does not scan they don't take it.......some cashiers do ........I neve have a problem with my coupon scanning in any other store , if my coupon does not scan Iand Walmart does not take it that item will be returned and I will take the coupon to another store like Walgreens wher the scan machine are better because all the Peter store a visit coupon ALWAYS SCAN with not problems ,so is it the coupon problem or their scan machines?
It is so unfair because non of this shit works in California. We have coupons, but you cannot combine coupons, no stores double coupons on certain days, all the tricks that work in other states don't work here.
Walmart doesn't double coupons or allow you to combine coupons. Anyone can save at Walmart no matter where you live. Pay attention and you might learn something.
Here's a tip that can increase your discount, though I'm not saying it will double it, as coupons come in different amounts. But for example, Walmart is part of the Dubli network. Get yourself a free Dubli account newpage.tkr.me/freemembership and then log into your Walmart account, then pay with your Walmart card if you have one ( and especially if you can get points). I really hate walmart.... I've gotten the run around about price matching too much. It gets very frustrating. And they count on you not understanding their policy. I know they do because they change their policy sometimes as often as weekly.
This would work GREAT... only if Walmart didn't have such incompetent cashiers. *I'm not saying everyone is incompetent but at least 95% of the ones I've dealt with have been at any given point.

A few things that they did not go over is that some coupons have a limit whereas it can state no more than two identical coupons per trip etc. Also, with the carrots, you are not allowed to take out a coupon for more than the price of the product; this meaning the checker should have entered the coupon for $0.74 because those coupons are for up to $xx.xx. Lastly, most ( 85%-90%) coupons actually exclude trial and travel sized products.

Wal-Mart has changed their scanners to not read the internet coupons. I have this issue every time different Wal-Marts. If it doesn't scan..we can't accept it..is the scripted line. After slamming your coupon on the scanner & crinkling it up. But when I take the same coupon to Albertsons, Tom Thumb, Kroger, CVS, Walgreens, El-Rancho, Fiesta, Dollar General, Dollar Tree..no problem.
The problem I always have at Wal-Mart is when I gave them a coupon with a picture of the product on it and it says clearly "any one item (of that particular brand) they say "sorry it's not pictured on it so we can't accept it." I try to explain that this little coupon can not show All the items this brand makes( for instance hair color, if you pick out blonde and the coupon shows brunette) they refuse it. They do this over & over again so after a few times I now shop at Target! They have no training not even the managers!
I just want to say when shopping at ANY store, besides looking at the cost per ounce, pay attention to the price on the shelf, in the circular AND at the register. Many times I have gotten to the register and things have come up at the wrong price. Sure, you might have to wait for the price to be verified, but it's worth it if it's going to save you money.
so I just went shopping at walmart and took some coupons with me, thinking i was gonna save a bunch my total was 21dollers and something cents my final total after coupons was still too high i think i had to pay 17 dollars and some cents plus the cashier said and even asked the manager for one my my coupons that i use the product came with one dollar off and one that i had printed at home and when she scan it it bipped she said that i couldnt use it because it was printed from a computer i told her yes we can use it but still the manager said that they could only use the one that the product had and i couldnt use the other one, I don't get it yet, im new to this couponing thing, HELP!!!!! crazy coupon ladys on how I can start saving some money plz.
Most of the very nice Wal*Marts I've been to were in other states--I live in NJ, and most of the ones here tend to be less neat, clean, well-stocked, well-run, and well-maintained. I think I've gone to beautiful ones in Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Tennessee, Georgia, and a few other states.

If you just coupon for items you need you save some money.. Otherwise you end up in shopping frenzy and buy items you really don't need .. Couponing is good but extreme couponing some times makes you spend more.. Make a list of items you need and coupon only those .. Don't buy for the sake of coupons.. I coupon for body lotions, shampoo, food stuff , diapers and wipes ..other than that I don't get into make up sectionor so because I feel you are just forced to spend for something you don't require

Most cashiers at Walmart would not have been this great with the coupons... nor would I have just stood there chatting with my friend not paying attention while the cashier scans them. If you are crazy couponer... you pay attention to your cashier!
there is a video on RUclips talking about someone having problems with using coupons and the lady had a print off of the coupon policy and the Store Manager I think or someone just up and took it from her and told the person that they are not suppose to have it...

@Jessica engle just because she only showed one advil doesn't mean she only purchased one, if you were really paying attention to the cashier you would have noticed she scanned two not one... Plus the coupon was $3/2 and the price for them was 1.84 so it would make scence getting $3 off💁
our walmart makes a huge issue with coupon usage...isn't worth my time. even when I've showed the cashier the coupon policy, she'll still argue with me about it. have not shopped there for over a year now, and will not shop there again.

I hate couponing at Walmart as well, simply bc of the rude staff and my printables NEVER scan so they just hand them back to me. So frustrating. if it wasn't for those things it'd be a great way to save for me and my family. After reading a lot of these posts, it sounds as if Wallmart is in dire need of some customer service training! :)
there are several websites. you can get them in your sunday newspaper. i pay 50 cents a week for my newspaper press enterprise to deliver to me. you sometimes get them in the mail as well or go online search top 10 websites. they will give you a bunch of websites. i hope this helps. goodluck im new as well. i been trying to learn, but it seems like most san bernardino stores dont accept double coupons nof
I lay at your feet with respect for the couponing wisdom and experience you ladies have. I just think getting something for free sake is not responsible but I guess you can always barter the unnecessary items. When it comes to food I feed my family I don't do GMO so it narrows what we would take into our foods..
They are not coupon friendly. If you buy 2 exact items & use 2 coupons(one for each) they will only except one coupon.

Of all the stores I coupon at, Wal-Mart is the worse store for me to coupon at. Even when I have their coupon policy with me, the CSM and cashier tend to change it a little just so I don't get to use my coupons there.

Can i apply coopons while using the Walmart on-line delivery app? I use a wheelchair and find it easier to have groceries delivered, rather than trying to lugg multiple bags on the back of my chair, or trying to take our local paratransit service(your limited to 3 bags- a pain in the a$$!!)

I guess that’s why it’s called EXTREME couponing on TLC, but I agree with you two on saving!!!! Just still don’t understand how you can get more than one of something with same coupon, when they normally limit you to one per coupon, and most stores limit one coupon (the same coupon of course) to one order.... so how can you get multiples??? I’ve been a cashier before when I was younger and worked at a Bilo and a Ingles... so I’ve seen how confusing they can be... actually just recently, there was a coupon ON the actual item I was buying and it said, “USE NOW”, yet didn’t work at the register and unless I literally argued and showed out, they were not gonna even try to find out what the deal was with it... I guess that’s one reason that I stray away from them... but I truly do wanna learn how to do it... on everything but especially laundry detergents, pods, dishwasher pods/detergent, regular dish detergents, toilet paper and paper towels, tin foil, etc... also, is there any way to save with coupons on meats?

What site do you get the produce coupons? I rarely see them on coupons.com. Also what should do if the cashier says the printable coupons won't work? This happens several time at Dollar tree and Dollar general. Both place I was in proper protocol with the coupon and store policy. Please advise.

I hate using Q @ WM. 1ce a manager said a Q for $ off 1 wasn't allowed on twin packs. To me 1 barcode is 1 item. She pushed it through. Another time a cashier said I couldn't used my Q because item wasn't same as pictured & when I pointed out to her it said ANY she still said it had to be of the 1 pictured. Had same cashier wks later give me the $1 off but didn't put Q in drawer she just crumpled it & through it away! Managers heard about her both times. Poor lady is probably without a job now.

If a coupon does not scan they don't take it.......some cashiers do ........I neve have a problem with my coupon scanning in any other store , if my coupon does not scan Iand Walmart does not take it that item will be returned and I will take the coupon to another store like Walgreens wher the scan machine are better because all the Peter store a visit coupon ALWAYS SCAN with not problems ,so is it the coupon problem or their scan machines?
It is so unfair because non of this shit works in California. We have coupons, but you cannot combine coupons, no stores double coupons on certain days, all the tricks that work in other states don't work here.
Walmart doesn't double coupons or allow you to combine coupons. Anyone can save at Walmart no matter where you live. Pay attention and you might learn something.
Here's a tip that can increase your discount, though I'm not saying it will double it, as coupons come in different amounts. But for example, Walmart is part of the Dubli network. Get yourself a free Dubli account newpage.tkr.me/freemembership and then log into your Walmart account, then pay with your Walmart card if you have one ( and especially if you can get points). States don't regulate coupons, stores regulate their own coupons.
I really hate walmart.... I've gotten the run around about price matching too much. It gets very frustrating. And they count on you not understanding their policy. I know they do because they change their policy sometimes as often as weekly.
This would work GREAT... only if Walmart didn't have such incompetent cashiers. *I'm not saying everyone is incompetent but at least 95% of the ones I've dealt with have been at any given point.
