Hi Dean, from my point of view....... this sort of project is more interesting than things like the lambo simply because it's relatable/attainable........ the A7 was another good one. Kind regards David
100% agree. More risk dealing with increasingly more complex challenges (different types of damage) is more interesting to look all the way than dealing with a more expensive toy car.
You have the patience of a saint that car is jinxed and I would’ve set fire to it ages ago and taken a loss but walk away with a massive smile on my face RIP CAR
The amount of labour and time put into the cars and allowing us to see Excactly what your doing, and after all that giving us a chance to actually own the cars in a raffle is amazing, why anybody would have a problem with that is beyond me, why would anybody begrudge you making some money from it, long may the raffles continue, tickets will be bought, and hopefully my luck is in.🤞
This car is one of the reasons I subscribed, cause not only do we get to watch you rebuild all sorts of cars, but here in Canada we don't even have this brand/model and so its interesting to see you repair a car that I've never even heard of
Ye literally vw MQB mate I’ve got a 2024 ateca now and it’ll be going soon wasn’t what I thought it would be and had loads of problems with it. Coming from an x5m50d it’s also slow asf.
Great result as per normal. I think the variety of cars that feature on your channel is one of your strengths and I would like to see more cars/projects like this. You have come a long way from the stolen recovered Polo GTI that was the first video I watched back in covid times.
To remove those clips without losing the pin, simply press the pin in until it almost comes loose, using the head of a suitable pop rivet, then use a forked trim tool under the head to remove the clip complete with the pin.
Good work Dean, I like the mix of cars, older, newer, what ever mine or others opinions are of the car, it's good to get the variety, including technical deep dive fixes and the swop a module and code it in fixes 😅
Dean, yes I really enjoy when u buy a car that's nearly new or brand new with hopefully not many issues but at least a problem or 2 to make it worth while. In fact Matey I like all the things you do it's great, only thing is I could watch you for hours lol 🤣 Longer videos would be awesome but know it's not easy editing etc. Take care and keep up the great work 👍 😁😁
Great video; enjoyed this “minor damage!” repair, you obviously have a huge knowledge of vehicles which must give you the confidence to tackle these jobs. Keep them coming.
Having a few tickets for this. I've never considered one of these before and I have been struggling to find an estate auto that I like. I do like the look of this and really enjoyed the repair video. 👍
Mate ... I respect the way you don't give up ... obviously if it's loser you will but you give it 100 percent on all your projects... salute 🫡 to ya 👏👏👏👏...
The Cupra came up really good Dean. Looks mint now. As usual your hard work & patience has paid off again. Chuffed your sticking it on compete for cars as I'm sure lots of people will enter. Even though we now know it's weak points, but let's face all modern cars have them. Glad you would have seen a profit after all the hassles & yes would like to see you do something similar when you can fit it into the schedule. All the best. Always enjoy the content 👍🏻
You are such a pleasure too watch, I would watch almost any content you would put out here for us, your skills and dedication, hardwork make you fun too watch, got my tickets for the cupra leon, cant afford any more than what I have bought, wish I could.
Really enjoy the honest down to earth videos. Personally I wouldn’t have replaced the carpets on the new car, I wouldn’t have removed them all, cleaned them and air dried them thoroughly. As for the gear linkage it’s clearly a manufacturer defect so I think I’d have got them to do it. It’s definitely going to make a nice car for someone. As for Copart, what a bunch of absolute jokers! As long as people are going to allow them to cause damage to their cars and for staff to steal items and parts it going to continue. Trouble is they don’t care. If they were held accountable for their damage and the obvious theft from vehicles (the cars don’t belong to Copart so they have a duty of care for other people property while the vehicles are in their custody, this includes STAFF THEFT, NEGLECTFUL DAMAGE AND RODENT DAMAGE!!! If they were held to account then they would definitely be more careful, especially taking into account the amount of money they are making with their fees.I think if the insurance / finance companies stood a harder ground with them and the care of their property they would be more careful sadly they don’t care either.
That turned out really nice, shame about the additional damage and as well as the parts needed to rectify the faults but it still showed how to save money/make a profit. Well done Dean👍
I like these sort of builds of everyday cars as the super cars are now getting boring as so many youtubers are doing the same thing and they take to long. It's nice to see them done in a single or a couple of video's and not drag out for age's.. Keep up the good content. Thank you.👍👍
Nice one Dean , can always relate to your budget and keeping it real. At least you'd make a profit unlike some of the others. The only problem is the cars registration will come up on a hpi search, yes it will be unrecorded but it will show its been through a salvage yard. Companies like "we buy any car" won't touch it. But you have become my favourite one to watch.
For the clips, normally you shouldn't push it fully out but just at a position to be unlocked. And the central pin should stay in the clip. Honda use it on motorbikes since a very long time.
thankyou Dean,as usual fantastic content,, been watching your content for a few years now, youve always been down to earth,,keep on doing what you are doing,,keep safe,👍👌
I really preferd the old model. I had a 2 tsi estate version in bohemian putple. Great car. I was in a cupra dealer in september and really didnt like this current gen, it feels much larger car and it feels cheaper than the 19 model i had. The stering wheel was a big step down. Looking inside the other cupra models, this really looks and feels cheap inside. The seats on the Born are some of the nicest snd comfortable seats ive sat in in a long time. Cupra (minis the leon), are nailing the seats atm. Weather it be the entey level upt to the top trim vz. I perinally liked the dynamica seats, which woudk be there mid level seat now, but comes with driver and pasanger massaging and heating. The top line seat doesnt have the massage function.
I collect & deliver Copart cars all over the country. As soon as i've left the yard they don't won't want to know about any damages, they even go as far back as rewinding CCTV footage apparantly incase i've driven back in and then complained 😂. Got lucky on that 1 Dean.
Liked the video great car, dont get me wring i do like to see the exotics been put back on the road but they usually take months and months these are usually a few episodes and ready for a lucky competition winner
Good luck to the person who buys that car! Likely to be no end if issues in the future, what with the fact the cabins been full of water! Surprised it isint a Cat B!!
Car looks great now you have put all the work into it. 😊 Great videos 👍 One last thing you didn't replace in the video was the rear disc guards as they was bent. 😑. So not fully finished. 😮
Tiguan's will break ur heart i can atest to it . Bought a 2018 4 motion, and the issues kept on stacking up and the group i joined on facebook highlights how common these issues are outside if regular maintenance and servicing so vag have a lot to answer for uts like fast fasion theyre gorgeous lookjng cars but not everything is built to last
Hey love the vids, quick question about the tickets for a salvage rebuild idea. If I was to win could I choose a car that’s just either mechanically or electronically damaged instead ? I’d never want a car that’s been flood or accident repaired, they’re never the same again. Thanks 👍
As for loosing the center out of the push trough clips i bought a lenth of plastic rod off ebay for if i loose any and just cut a bit off i calnt rember the diamiter though i think they are 3mm
Just shows you Copart is totally only interested in keeping their RUclips buyers happy, just bought a Volvo which came with all the rear seat chewed from mouse damage which wasn’t on any photos, complained and I’m getting nothing, they’ve said because I had it delivered by a third party transport the damage could have happened after I took delivery.. they was like 1/2 hours max from me winning the vehicle to actually having it delivered.. total joke. Has put me off using them again
@@slesss4888 they didn’t know who I was, I complained in the normal way via email like anyone else. My username isn’t affiliated with SS so they wouldn’t have known
The water will be being drawn up the cable by the difference in pressure between the inside and the outside of the car when moving , a good wet day and it will fill the unit , when you stop it will flow back out as a Syphon , or most of it will , the remainder standing in the unit will make it rot , it may also overflow and soak the carpet and your other module ,.....
A bit late now I suppose but you could have taken yours apart and put it in an ultrasonic bath 50% dionised water 50% isoproponal. Shake the excess off and leave it to dry for a couple of hours you might need to regrease the plastic cogs and it's internals can you not tape the new cable to the old cable and pull it through?
We all know that history repeats itself and many of these cars you are repairing will become something of a lost time in history because in the 30s there were so many cars you could just simply take home with you because they were worth nothing and as the world economy has come to an end in regards to electric cars Some of them have made their day but most of them in many countries are not wanted I believe in electric cars there is a place for every type of motor vehicle is the use of the day that don’t want many of the restored motor vehicles regards Al from down under. Thank you for being you. I love your channel and anybody that takes on a challenge in on some of these vehicles that truly are a mess from the beginning to the end.
Dumb question but have you connected that module with the pull cable to the DSG? Even tho these cars are shift by wire, there is still a Bowden running from this mysterious black box to the DSG. Had mine replaced on my MK8 Wagon
Hi Dean, from my point of view....... this sort of project is more interesting than things like the lambo simply because it's relatable/attainable........ the A7 was another good one. Kind regards David
Agreed
I sort of agree too although a sprinkling of “dream cars” like the Lambo is good too
Yep, i'm loving these more as well. Especially in the 0-8ish years old range
100% agree. More risk dealing with increasingly more complex challenges (different types of damage) is more interesting to look all the way than dealing with a more expensive toy car.
Agree 100%
You have the patience of a saint that car is jinxed and I would’ve set fire to it ages ago and taken a loss but walk away with a massive smile on my face

The way you tell stories is on another level. Keep pushing it!
This car is one of the reasons I subscribed, cause not only do we get to watch you rebuild all sorts of cars, but here in Canada we don't even have this brand/model and so its interesting to see you repair a car that I've never even heard of
It’s a vw group car…

Basically its a vw golf in a dress
This is the best car resurrection channel to watch. It's literally saving salvages. Top man, top work!
Just entered the comp.. all the best everyone 🎉
Good one Dean. It's nice to see some "ordinary" cars from time to time, as well as the more exotic ones.
Enjoyed this little series. Its good to see you break it down so people can see how much goes into something like this.
Dean you are a legend mate … much respect!!

Great watch again Dean, I’d definitely watch a series like this again where they’re quicker to repair, although I also liked the M2 series too
Good work Dean, I like the mix of cars, older, newer, what ever mine or others opinions are of the car, it's good to get the variety, including technical deep dive fixes and the swop a module and code it in fixes 😅

Love this kind of video. Quick wins (we hope).
Tickets bought. 👍🏼
Love this format, very entertaining and educational.
You have an acutator to move the cable back and fourth for you. Great thinking...
Dean’s videos are just great viewing, my favorite is this video and the Land Rover, well done Dean
Having a few tickets for this. I've never considered one of these before and I have been struggling to find an estate auto that I like. I do like the look of this and really enjoyed the repair video. 👍
These fasteners. Brilliant for adding more parts to the invoice cost overall.

Hello from Ireland again, Dean. Nice Repair job on the bumper. Lovely little car for someone. Well done, mate. 🙏🙏👌👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Cracking Dean. Content is great...it works for SR boys, should work for you. Keep it up🤟
Yes dean more content on rebuilding motors not needing alot of parts And also be nice to see you rebuild a 7.5 Golf R, one hell of a Beautiful car

You've done a really nice job with it shame about the electrical issues but at least you didn't lose out
Great content wish I was that part of the world to help with this builds
I think it's an interesting topic and I would like to see more. Plus it inspires others to do the same. Greetings from Romania
This type of video was fun to watch 👍 Gonna get some tickets for this one too ❤ Great job, love the channel 😊
Great video dean, would love to see more of these !
For Tiguan loading problem on trailer: Can you buckle your seatbelt behind you, open window and you can stand up and see like that?
Nice work problem-solving the issues, always a gamble with s/hand parts. I'm off to complete for cars🙂
Good luck!
Another good un dean. I look forward to these vids especially vag. ❤
Raffle this one Dean.
Excellent you did. Tickets bought
Great content as usual
Top man Dean 👍👍

Got lucky on that 1 Dean.
You don’t half like a headache when it comes to cars
I'd be inclined, indeed want to know and resolve the reason why that thing gets so much water, its a lot,
Liked the video great car, dont get me wring i do like to see the exotics been put back on the road but they usually take months and months these are usually a few episodes and ready for a lucky competition winner

Full of water....did I miss something?
@crisfiler6128 you must have! Full of water may be a slight exaggeration, but the cabins clearly had a fair amount of water in it.
Great two-parter and I'd like to see these again on the channel.
Cheers Dean
Car looks great now you have put all the work into it. 😊
Great videos 👍
One last thing you didn't replace in the video was the rear disc guards as they was bent. 😑.
So not fully finished. 😮
Love what you do mate
That car looks very elegant and stylish
Nice result, nice looking car, just purchased 10 tickets 👍
Looks stunning now. I'd put it up for auction. It will be very popular.
Hola...Great work myguy.... just wanted to find out if it's possible to enter your competition's if 1 is not from UK?

2:59 you still need to remove your christmas tree from the seat 🤣
Came out lovely Dean, great content

Nice content/challenge, like to see more. Again…. Your hardy man👍🚗 Respect
love the channel keep doing what your doing, interested in the hook up with rob and chris.
Superbly done, Dean! 👍🏼
Another great video Dean
Love your work keep it up bro 👊🏻
I do like these type of video's dean.
Keep'em coming.
Hi Dean, I like this kind of video!
Nice video Dean and great car for someone. 👍👍👍👍

I suspected he got a result because of his RUclips channel
@@d_mac3233100% seen plenty RUclipsrs get the same benefits, it’s a joke really. Nowt against him but everyone should get the same treatment.
Copart are despicable. I wouldn’t buy from them. I’m sure if you got a lawyer involved then you’d win - but it’s cost/risk/ball-ache I know.
@ even if they had offered like £50 compen I would have been happy, but nah they just fobbed me right off.

The gear linkage water ingress is shocking how did that get through testing
