I've only read 3 issues of Ice Cream Man, but one thing that it was surprisingly similar to is the anime series and manga "Laughing Salesman". The big difference between the two is mainly how they're noticeably inherent to their culture of origin. Both series have someone in a crisis, a 2nd party inspiring a solution of sorts, then some exotic visuals, ending with (at least from the ice cream man issues I read) tragedy. Although, Laughing Salesman becomes very formulaic early on. Once you've seen about 4 episodes you've seen them all.
You had me worried man. I seriously thought we were going to lose the great things you provide. But this just proves you are going from strength to strength. Genuinely, thank-you for continuing. Best comics channel/analysis/reviews hands down.
Oh, sorry for making you or anyone worry! I'm still committed to continuing on, despite the sudden drop in views and such. It's a weird phenomenon that baffles me and makes little sense.
Sandman, along with Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns, are works I usually talk around rather than talk about. Quite honestly, I'm not sure I have anything to add to the conversation that hasn't already been said.
I really like how you pick obscure but interesting books I have never heard of. Would you ever be willing to take a look at Zenoscope's Grimm Fairy Tales series?
Love all your videos. You dont do the run of the mill comics bit mamy on the fringe. Very insightful. Would you someday be willing to do a video on The original Black Panther run in Jungle Action by Artist Billy Graham and i believe Don mcgregor? Also the starlin captain marvel issues as well as millers first run on daredevil from 168 to 191?
First of all, thank you! Secondly, yes! All of those are fine suggestion. The Jungle Action run in particular. It's been years (and years) since I read it, but it is an overlooked run.
i wanted to read this one but i did't i just delay it because i did't know anything about it i just heard that it's good and your video is out now! so i'm in immediately.
its one of the greatest existential horror fictions that i have ever read. i am a huge fan of the Ice Cream Man comics.
This is the kind of comics I love, and I would have never find out about it if it wasn't becase of your videos. Thanks a lot!
Thank you, sir or madame. I hope you enjoy the series.
Thank you too!
Oh this sounds like something Vertigo would have put out in the early '90s. I'm going to have to track this down.
Quintin tarentino would give a great adaptation for ice cream man I feel it's something he can really make great

I've never heard of the Laughing Salesman. I think I might have to check it out! And, I should mention, Ice Cream Man isn't formulaic whatsoever.
I wasn't sure what this title was about, but I really enjoyed Morazzo's work on Great Pacific and Electric Sublime. I'll have to give this one a read.
You really know how pick the interesting ones! Very cool.

Groovy. Keep on making them man + we'll keep watching + liking.
I love these obscure comic reviews. I'd love to see an in depth look at Sandman (since I'm rereading it at the moment)

I have never heard of this title...but now I am intrigued to read it!
Pied Piper of Hell. Or.....The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The witches house of Sweets in Hansel and Gretl.
As always, great stuff. Got me reading the comic.

Just read the first three issues online, going to get them in physical form now. Thanks for the review.
You're welcome! I'm glad it was a helpful overview.

The art is minimalist Moebius.
It has some of the ripened lines seen in Moebius's work

I'm going to keep an eye out for this. I've said it before, but even if I'm not interested, your videos are always great.

I would love to read these series, it looks so interesting :)
Been a while since you have reviewed any comic that you seem to obviously enjoy and would, dare I say it, recommend?
Yes, I both enjoyed it and would suggest it. You are quite correct, sir or madame.
Too bad Caleb is death without him Rick(The ice cream man) is unstoppable using the book of universe.
Ice cream man is the type of comic that need to be seen to be believed.
I do agree. And it's worth it.
Definitely
Didn't this had a movie?
Joaquin Phoenix starring in a film directed by James Gunn.
