I just love doing covers from these albums. This specific one was requested and I had it on my list for some time. The lyrics to this track really drives the song to that eerie feeling and strange picking patterns. These underrated songs that gets no love from Metallica anymore are always fun to cover.
Tuning is Eb as is the case with the entire ReLoad and load albums.

Both Load and Reload were well rounded albums, a lost era, a departure from the norm that Metallica should have followed up on.

It’s like a sound and style I wish other bands would use but not so much Metallica, but nobody has done anything like them and it’s rather annoying cause you’d think it would’ve caught on

Hetfield and Ulrich really had some poor considerations towards Newsted (who wrote down that song) for never playing it live with him on the bass during the Reload Tour...

Thanx. I checked to see if I still had the project files for this, but couldn't find it. I most likely used an IR cab sim with a custom IR and Emissary Amp Sim to get the tone. Think I did very little Eq and might have just done some high and low pass filtering.

I’ve never seen anyone ever play a V in that position. You actually have it on your right leg like a traditional guitar rather than resting between your legs like most people do. Is it being held in place with the strap?
That is correct. The strap is adjusted so that I can easily hold it in this position without issues.
