Hey, CG. Just wanted to ask if you'd be willing to make a rather offbeat top 10/5. I'm thinking of the top rarest opponents in Chao Karate. Here's why: I was just putting my Chaos Chao Luna through the fights, and noticed the Chao from the Beginner Difficulty, Dinner, appear while standing. Implying that he apparently had a high enough Run Stat to do so. Dinner is already a rare appearance in Beginner, but I think it's more so to see it standing. Get back to me if you get the chance. I'd like to see what would be found by you.
@@ShiningSilvally the chao that you fight against in karate are pre determined and are the same everytime from my understanding. There are some chao that have special animations that were added specifically just for them in karate (I.e. happy in the beginner karate having a cool pre fight dance). I hope this helps
@@Choa Well, I've played in Beginner multiple times, and Dinner is a rarity, and Eggie is very common, who are both the semifinal opponent. Take a bit of time, and go into about 10 battle sets, and maybe you'll see Dinner.
@@Choa Hey, CG. Just wanted to confirm that something from earlier that I said was a mistake. It turns out, Dinner is a much more common occurrence with my new Chaos Chao, Chrome. I've yet to see him stand up, and I've seen Chrome fight Eggie once, but I'm sure that the rarity of these Chao can be ignored. Sorry about that. But, if you don't mind, my Chao Chrome, I was curious if you could obtain it legitimatley in SA2B, because it's called a Rainbow Chao. People have said that it can be done, but I can't find anything on Chao Island. Mind lending me a hand with some info, or maybe a better website? That would be very appreciated.
I'll keep saying it. Sega has been providing a great disservice to themselves and the gaming community by not focusing on a Chao focused game, or by reintroducing them into the sonic games. Most of this games replayability came from the chao garden. Everyone loves them. They'd be printing money.
@@jeremiahbaugh8195 I mean if they just took every chao garden they've had in a game and remastered it for the switch, (like a way where you can alternate between each version,) and with a few progression tweaks I think that'd do it.
I have a chaos Chao that I've taken care of since I was literally 12 years old at least. It's been 15 years and Rascal is still my absolute favorite good boy.
^this. Chao were a lot like pokemon mixed with tomagochi on steroids back in the day. You could take your chao over to your friend's house with Sonic Advance and enter them in the race/karate straight through the link cable. Back during the dreamcast days, you could even hook 2 memory cards up to each other and the chao would interact.

@@gircakes not true. My file on xbox 360 i have every color! Not even every emblem. I have black, yellow, lime green etc. I tried to cloud save it but that was a while ago when i actually had 360. Now i have the one. So basically theyre locked on to my xbox 360's SA2 file

Oh my god the Chao garden was my obsession from like age 10 to age 12. I remember buying sonic games for years just because I was hoping they'd bring the chao garden back. I would pay a stupid amount of money for a chao raising game in current year, and it would be _perfect_ with mobile phone integration!
That's so true! It could be like the tiny chao garden on Sonic Advance, but ya know, with more to do and it would have a cooler interface. The way I picture it in my head seems so awesome. We can only hope it comes true.

fyi, Chaos is also a Chao, although one who mutated farther than any other Chao of having advanced possible forms. This can be proven in the Japanese version of Sonic Adventure, and only the Japanese one, as in the first Tikal flashback cutscene, you hear Chaos making Chao noises. I love Chao so much. Chao alone are my reason for rebuying Sonic Adventure 2 on multiple platforms, and always buying the DLC that adds to SA2 the improvements Sonic Adventure 2 Battle brought to the game

I had a Dreamcast and I would very occasionally use the internet service when it was still active - I remember the website had all the jewel chao and then also that Moon Chao - at the time you had to be careful how much data you used at one time so I downloaded just the Moon Chao egg and it was one of my favourite chao on my original SA2 DC save.
Great video, but the info about the character chao isn't entirely accurate- there's a Japanese demo disc included with certain Gamecubes in Japan (Nintendo Gamecube 2003 E-Soft Catalog) that allows you to transfer the Tails, Amy, and Knuckles chao to a Japanese copy of SA2B or SADX using a Gameboy Advance as many times as you like! I obtained all these chao legitimately around a year ago by purchasing a Japanese Gamecube, this demo disc, and a Japanese copy of SA2B. So, while these chao are still very rare, there isn't actually a limited quantity of them.
It is good to see that someone else knows the the 2003 e-soft catalog disc. I also got this disc and a Japanese version of SA2B so I could get these chao.
My Special Boy is a Grey two-tone Light Chao named Tyke. He's a Chao I've raised for years off and on. He's all S rank and I consider him the Elder of my Gardens no other Chao I have in my garden compares.
The fact SEGA never gotten around to making an online or Mobile app continuation of Chao Garden and allow players around the world to compete with their chaos baffles me
I remember getting a legit tails chao chao when I was about 13 (8 years ago) It was one of the best moments of my life. My dad had always been a phantasy star fan so he had the game and I played it a bit when I was younger. I booted it up to find I was actualy on the Faking yellow mission just by chance and I got my self the tails chao :)
Honestly, my Dark Chaos Chao from 20 years ago is one of my greatest childhood gaming achievements. I still remember crying to my parents and curling up on the couch with them when my very first chao died and wow did it make an impact on me back then.

I remember as a young lad, begging my mom to buy me the phantasy Star episode 1&2 game just so I could get a Tails chao on my GC. She never did. Then like 5 years later in my late teens she accidentally instead bought me Phantasy Star Universe for the Xbox 360 thinking
It was the same game and I didnt have the heart to correct her as we never had much money (mainly cause she was giving all the child support money to her boyfriend so he could buy stupid shit and booze with it.)
I have everything required to get legitimate knuckles and Amy (and tails) chao if you were ever interested. There is an obscure Japanese e-catalog disc for the GameCube that allows you to send an unlimited amount of these 3 chao to a game boy advance. These can then be transferred to sonic adventure 1 or 2. Unfortunately, this disc is region locked so without home brew or something similar, you can’t do this on an American GameCube. The GBA is not region locked so the temporary tiny chao garden is accessible on any game boy advance. However, it won’t transfer to an American copy of SADX/SA2. So for this reason i also have a Japanese copy of SA2.
I miss all my special chao from my GameCube. I used to have a transparent chao, the onyx chao, I had all versions of the cahos chao, and I had so many pretty jewl chao too. Ugh good times.
Grinding all the emblems in SA2B is a core memory. I did them all in DX as well but I really just used it to get the gold and silver chao transferred over to SA2B, and for farming the tiny chao garden.
whats crazy is each of the 3 types had 5 types, then those 5 types had like 5 types. hero power power, hero power run, hero power fly.... so on so on. it was freakin nuts. neutral run run was sonic, devil run run was shadow. This was the most advanced thing in the game.

Even 20+ years ago, there was a very active chao garden community online. That's how good this "afterthought" was.

I spoke with a lady at a comic con. She explained to me that they do not know who owns the chao anymore. It was a huge fight on who owned them at the end. This is why we didn't see them after a certain point.
0:57 It's for trading on the Dreamcast's old internet servers back when they were active. You were supposed to trade the chao colors you couldn't get on your own save. Kind of like what Pokémon does with its version exclusives, like Sableye and Mawile. Still stupid how they didn't fix that for the ports, though, considering you couldn't trade chao after that.
I remember having a Hero Chaos chao all S when I was younger. Can't remember how many hours I sunk into playing with the chao but I loved that little guy so much. His name was Cheese.

Wow, tearing up from nostalgia! I tried to get all of the different chao wothout a guide and happy to know that I truly would have been able to get the chaos and angel chao if I kept going! I already had a devil chao but man.... To think if I kept going I would have gotten the other two including S chao.
Thanks for the video! I have played sonic adventure 2 for hundreds of hours and my greatest achievement is my angel chaos bright pink 2 tone chao with all S stats and each stat being 3266 (this being the highest they can get). It took me months to get it there and someday I’ll do more chaos chaos. I wish newer sonic games had chao gardens but being able to play the game cube one for an unlimited amount of time is still fun to this day!
I was always conflicted about making a Chaos Chao because I didn't like that there are only 3 kinds, but obviously I wanted them to live forever too. Personally my favorite looking chao were the Neutral Swim, Neutral Power, Neutral Fly, Hero Swim, Hero Run, and Dark Swim, so I liked the idea of keeping them that way instead of eventually getting them all to the same form.

Fun fact my friends and I actually got the Tails chao a bit back since I just so happened to have everything and it's really neat to actually have it in a legit memory card. Didn't even know it was a thing before trying to get it.
I used to mess around with the Shiny White Chao’s and Normal Chao’s. I once made a Shiny Normal Chao. But I also made that Inivisible Chao. I wish I had this game again 2:59
There is another one you missed! My favorite: Shiny "normal color" Chao, it's essentially a shiny that takes on normal colors, so if you turn it into an angel it will white and pink, black and red if devil etc, It's hard to remember but to obtain it I think you had to breed the transparent chao with a shiny chao, or a transparent with invisible, can't remember. This was my favorite type since you could appreciate all the original chao designs but shiny.
I have been thinking if this game for the past few weeks, kept forgetting then remembering, the “Chao” have been in my memories forever and its whats made me think of this old gem i used to play, nostalgia is on point, from the truck chase to the garden, what were it you used to have to give the chao? I remember like 10 years ago i had an urge to get back into chao, i had a few of the ones on this list, onyx, transparent, jewel chaos etc. i remember i found out about the chao island website that listed all the rare and bugged chaos and actually bought the game that had tiny chao garden(already had the cable to connect it to my gamecube). Chao raising was so fun, i cant believe theres been almost no word on it ever coming back. I still have the memory card with all my rare chao, but im a bit scared the internal battery may had died and wiped that memory card
So fun fact about getting the Tails Chao on Gamecube. You do not need Sonic Advance or really any game inserted in the gameboy. When you complete the hidden easter egg to get the tails chao on Phantasy star it will open Tiny chao garden on the gameboy as long as you do not turn off the game boy you can play this version of the tiny chao garden and even switch the game over in the game cube. You can also buy jewel eggs from this version of the tiny garden but getting enough rings is painfully tedious.
Ah, SA2B Chao garden... I remember leaving my gamecube on overnight to get some silver/gold Chao, and as a kid I had no clue how choa garden even worked. Wish they'd re-release the Dreamcast/Gamecube era Sonics, those were the best ones.
To be honest, Sega not making a mobile app version of the Chao Garden is so strange. I mean, it seems like the perfect idea to make money. It’s so obvious.

Onyx jewel chao took so freaking long to grind, I'd go back and forth between the minigames and just getting like 200-300 rings on level 1. I remember it taking ages as a kid.
I put a lot of effort in this one Chao I named "Noodlez" I was trying to make it an Angel Chao. Noodlez won every single Chao Karate round and every race no problem after so much time put into him. Sonic was the main character I used, and he was ready to be "reborn" into an Angel Chao from playing level after level to collect the rare animals. I remember the next morning my GF FORMATTED THE MEMORY CARD and completely wiped Noodlez from existence. She was prompted from the GameCube Animal Crossing to format the card for some reason. I still have the copy of the game, I just gottta get a GameCube again.
Back when i still played in my Game cube, i manage to create a two - tone black chao that i was hoping to turn into a neutral chaos chao but by then, it was already time when the new consoles where comming out and i never manage to complete that chao...

PSO episode 1 and 2 is a legendary game. Getting the tails chao as a child was just a bonus.

The gamecube one. Their were tons of Sonic Advance Games and PSO that could get you alot of neat gems.
I remember as a little girl I would devote all my time to both sonic adventure 1&2 & the game boy version just specifically to raise my chaos & my siblings would get so mad at me like: “you beat all the games already why are you so invested in these chaos!?” 🤣 😂

I spoke with a lady at a comic con. She explained to me that they do not know who owns the chao anymore. It was a huge fight on who owned them at the end. This is why we didn't see them after a certain point.
0:57 It's for trading on the Dreamcast's old internet servers back when they were active. You were supposed to trade the chao colors you couldn't get on your own save. Kind of like what Pokémon does with its version exclusives, like Sableye and Mawile.
Still stupid how they didn't fix that for the ports, though, considering you couldn't trade chao after that.
I remember having a Hero Chaos chao all S when I was younger. Can't remember how many hours I sunk into playing with the chao but I loved that little guy so much. His name was Cheese.

Wow, tearing up from nostalgia! I tried to get all of the different chao wothout a guide and happy to know that I truly would have been able to get the chaos and angel chao if I kept going! I already had a devil chao but man.... To think if I kept going I would have gotten the other two including S chao.
Thanks for the video! I have played sonic adventure 2 for hundreds of hours and my greatest achievement is my angel chaos bright pink 2 tone chao with all S stats and each stat being 3266 (this being the highest they can get). It took me months to get it there and someday I’ll do more chaos chaos.
I wish newer sonic games had chao gardens but being able to play the game cube one for an unlimited amount of time is still fun to this day!
I was always conflicted about making a Chaos Chao because I didn't like that there are only 3 kinds, but obviously I wanted them to live forever too. Personally my favorite looking chao were the Neutral Swim, Neutral Power, Neutral Fly, Hero Swim, Hero Run, and Dark Swim, so I liked the idea of keeping them that way instead of eventually getting them all to the same form.

Fun fact my friends and I actually got the Tails chao a bit back since I just so happened to have everything and it's really neat to actually have it in a legit memory card. Didn't even know it was a thing before trying to get it.
I used to mess around with the Shiny White Chao’s and Normal Chao’s. I once made a Shiny Normal Chao. But I also made that Inivisible Chao. I wish I had this game again 2:59

They need to make a Chao Garden game.
There is another one you missed! My favorite: Shiny "normal color" Chao, it's essentially a shiny that takes on normal colors, so if you turn it into an angel it will white and pink, black and red if devil etc, It's hard to remember but to obtain it I think you had to breed the transparent chao with a shiny chao, or a transparent with invisible, can't remember. This was my favorite type since you could appreciate all the original chao designs but shiny.

You don't, though. Time passes in the Chao Garden if you're in it. It still does take a long time, though.
I remember like 10 years ago i had an urge to get back into chao, i had a few of the ones on this list, onyx, transparent, jewel chaos etc. i remember i found out about the chao island website that listed all the rare and bugged chaos and actually bought the game that had tiny chao garden(already had the cable to connect it to my gamecube). Chao raising was so fun, i cant believe theres been almost no word on it ever coming back. I still have the memory card with all my rare chao, but im a bit scared the internal battery may had died and wiped that memory card
So fun fact about getting the Tails Chao on Gamecube. You do not need Sonic Advance or really any game inserted in the gameboy. When you complete the hidden easter egg to get the tails chao on Phantasy star it will open Tiny chao garden on the gameboy as long as you do not turn off the game boy you can play this version of the tiny chao garden and even switch the game over in the game cube. You can also buy jewel eggs from this version of the tiny garden but getting enough rings is painfully tedious.
Ah, SA2B Chao garden... I remember leaving my gamecube on overnight to get some silver/gold Chao, and as a kid I had no clue how choa garden even worked. Wish they'd re-release the Dreamcast/Gamecube era Sonics, those were the best ones.
To be honest, Sega not making a mobile app version of the Chao Garden is so strange. I mean, it seems like the perfect idea to make money. It’s so obvious.

when i was a kid playing the gamecube version, i had pretty much all of these chaos. Im so certain i had an amy and knuckles chao without any event codes or anything. i remember only seeing tails chaos in like youtube videos in 2006 lol
almost 20 years later, i still find myself hooking up my GBA to my gamecube via the adapter cable just to experience this on SA1

Onyx jewel chao took so freaking long to grind, I'd go back and forth between the minigames and just getting like 200-300 rings on level 1. I remember it taking ages as a kid.

I am so proud having Shiny Jewel chao for myself. Having just now discover pc sonic, i am working on trying to get all S rank chao for myself.
I put a lot of effort in this one Chao I named "Noodlez" I was trying to make it an Angel Chao. Noodlez won every single Chao Karate round and every race no problem after so much time put into him. Sonic was the main character I used, and he was ready to be "reborn" into an Angel Chao from playing level after level to collect the rare animals. I remember the next morning my GF FORMATTED THE MEMORY CARD and completely wiped Noodlez from existence. She was prompted from the GameCube Animal Crossing to format the card for some reason. I still have the copy of the game, I just gottta get a GameCube again.
Back when i still played in my Game cube, i manage to create a two - tone black chao that i was hoping to turn into a neutral chaos chao but by then, it was already time when the new consoles where comming out and i never manage to complete that chao...
This brought back my GameCube childhood. I only ever obtained 1 chaos Chao.
