    Couldn't have done it without this. Still relevant in 2023. I always forget the damn tomcat-users file. Thanks.

    It was really useful thank you, for anyone presenting 403 problems when opening the manager, hos manager or status you need to add a comment on the Valve on the context files.

    Tom cat not running on 8080.or by typing
    1. localhost:8080
    2. Public ip:8080.
    Any suggestions to change the port as i am using aws cloud ubuntu.

    • @LinuxH2O
      @LinuxH2O  8 месяцев назад

      On AWS instance, make sure the server is running and you have properly configured it and associated your instance with a private IP to public IP.
      And localhost only works locally, not on the cloud.

    But if you are using instance via putty u can't run manager app , it will show 403 access denied as you can only run from a browser running on same machine as Tomcat

    • @LinuxH2O
      @LinuxH2O  Год назад

      That's a security measure. There should be a way to access it.

    Hey bro.. I always have my eyes on ur Videos ..good man !!
    Yes I got a issue
    please reply ASAP.
    Let me tell u in detail.. I'm using Linux mint 20, and for my Java stuff I'm using JDK 1.8 IN ECLIPSE . recently I start using VS code. Now when I using java in vs code it starts demanding jdk11 or up.
    Now TELL ME CAN I USE 2 JDK WITHOUT ANY PRBLM, IF YES . THEN HOW. PLEASE GIVE ME A SOLUTION.

    • @LinuxH2O
      @LinuxH2O  3 года назад

      Yes! VSCode required at least 11 with their Java configuration, but you can have multiple versions of JDK, simply setup the alternatives for JAVA.
      You should use Intellij as it allows easy 1.8 target configurations in the build file and you're set regardless of the higher version installed.

      @@LinuxH2O ueah..I figured it out. Hey by the way can u make me clear which one is better Linux mint or Manjaro and why . As a developer / programmer which will be good for me.

    • @LinuxH2O
      @LinuxH2O  3 года назад +1

      I have not used Arch-based distros primarily, only tried them on VM so I will be in favour of Mint (I have been using Ubuntu for many years now, so).
      But down the road, it doesn't even matter which one you use, if you can do one thing in Ubuntu, you can also do it in Manjaro, Fedora or Mint - so choose any.
      If still confused, Go with Manjaro (only if you have some Linux experience) otherwise, stick to Ubuntu based distros, in this case Mint.

      Those lines are for role configuration, there is a blog link in the description, from there you can find the code, simply copy and paste it.
