For truly cursed adverts, British Rail "This is the age of the train", seatbelt PIF, "clunk click, every trip", and a learn to swim ad, all from the '70s... Can't get more cursed than Saville and Harris.
The thumbnail alone reminds me of the section that was in Numbertime that came on back in the 90s on BBC that had someone dressed up as a dog while the song this old man he had 1 and so on was being played out during the scene. For the longest time I thought I imagined it until I found it one day because it was like I remember at a young age seeing it and it stuck with me but I couldn't remember what it was or where it was from for years.
Sears only has 9 stores left (8 in US and 1 in Puerto Rico) while Kmart only has 1/4th of a store in the US with 4 others in other places (obviously not counting the Aussie stores) that's Trace Adkins, not Tim McGraw. and yes that's Penn Jillette Confused's ad was before the crazy animated chest things even existed, while Paris Hilton was after the TV Burp reaction, thanks to a request from someone... thank you person the AT&T twin towers ad was advertising the Atlanta Olympics from 1996, idk why they chose the World Trade Center, even since it would foreshadow future events unintentionally...
Argh! Hated that Problem Solvers show. And yes, it was on Cartoon Network, but apparently was orignally intended to go on Adult Swim before production. The creators did some interesting comic books with that art style and some of the same characters, but it didn't translate to animation at all. Just horrid to look at...
