    David Gilmour is the second vocalist you see and hear in this live performance... and the guitar player 🎸

    That's David Gilmour on lead vocals and guitar 24 years younger and a little pudgier than the Pulse videos. Roger Waters the first voice you see had left the band by the time Pulse was filmed. Roger was the lyricist in creative force behind Pink Floyd. He also sings co-lead on many Floyd tracks. When you watch "Comfortably Numb" from Pulse video, that should be Roger Waters singing the first verse: "Is there anybody IN there"

    Yes! David Gilmour was on this song.....he did that awesome guitar solo.....you didn't recognize him because he was so young, as they all were! The main singer on this song was Roger Waters.

    The Album The Wall is about a character named Pink who is is going through a psychological break and everything that leads to it. This song is about his over protective and controling mother.

    Roger sang the part of the boy and David sang the part of Mother. They are both very young in this video.

    One of my favorite songs of all time. The Wall is full of great and timeless songs. This is a younger David Gilmore. The wall is from the early 80's so this song is 40 years old. Plus, Pink Floyd had 2 lead singers with David Gilmore and Roger Waters.

    Great Reaction. This is my favorite Pink Floyd song all though it’s like choosing which is your favorite child. There’s just something about it that speaks to my soul. The overprotective mother although with the best of intentions is trying to protect her son from the world. She’s actually causing her son to be more isolated from people in his life unintentionally building a The Wall. The last words to the song like a dagger to the heart . mother did it need to be so high😢. ❤️✌️🌼

    David Gilmour is there singing and playing lead guitar. At the time of this concert (1980?), David had already been with Pink Floyd for about 12 years. The lighting was very dim for this concert, and also David is about 14 years younger than you remember him from the Pulse Concert. You can check him out in the Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii Italy 1971 playing Echoes. You will see him at around 24.

    Interesting fact , Pink Floyd were the highest grossing act of the 80s with The Wall and Delicate Sound of Thunder tours. Outdoing Michael Jackson even .
    Cool reaction, did you not recognise David Gilmour on guitar and sharing vocals with Roger Waters? They are a lot younger here though.

    Great reaction, my friend! As others have said, David sang the chorus from the perspective of the "mother" character and played lead guitar with that beauty of a solo. This song is part of a rock opera called The Wall which tells a story from beginning to end. It's quite likely the GOAT of rock operas. If you can, you should react to this album in one sitting. Even if you upload the reaction in segments, all us Floyd fans would enjoy watching you experience this. The album is called The Wall and it was turned into a movie after they toured to promote the album. People will sat to watch the movie and I agree, but I would listen to the album first and then watch the movie to answer any possible questions that linger. Cheers bro!

      Yes. Virtually any video you see from them, WILL have David Gilmour in it. Syd, who Gilmour replaced, was was long gone by the time they became international superstars. Much of it having to do with Mr Gilmour.

    This song is about an overprotective overcontrolling mother.

    • @heliotropezzz333

      @Mr Hyde Yes it is. Why not read what the lyric writer Roger Waters says about it?

    • @heliotropezzz333
      @heliotropezzz333 2 года назад +1

      @Mr Hyde I am a mother but why is that relevant to understanding this song? Roger Waters has talked about this song and how his own mother was overprotective of him after he lost his father early in life in WW2, but he did say this is not based directly on his own mother. It's about an overprotective mother in general. Yes he's asking questions but those questions reveal a lot about the mother's actions and views. She puts all of her fears into her child, she might 'let' him sing, so she is deciding that, she has to know where he's been, she decides whether his girlfriends are right for him and she encloses him within a wall (of protectiveness but ultimately that's not good for his mental health and well-being).

    • @heliotropezzz333
      @heliotropezzz333 2 года назад +1

      @Mr Hyde I'm sure your mother was lovely, but this is Roger's song and he knows what he meant by it. There's no need to take it personally.

    Great Reaction, mate. I think it might help you to understand this song by getting the information that the entire album, The Wall is a rock opera. It tells the whole story of a fictional character, Pink. Put this song in context with the rest of the album and subsequently the movie and you'll get it much better.

    Typically, Pink Floyd leads to Led Zeppelin and vice versa. Idk, if you heard Led Zeppelin outside their most popular songs. But, the whole library is outstanding. A lot of Zeppelin reactions on RUclips are very popular and grow their channels by Zeppelin fan bases. Here is a link to 'Since I've Been Lovin' You" live from MSG.

    What is with the White Sox hat. Cubs are cooler but in the end Go Blue Jay's. Welcome to the world of real music when musicians had real talent not like today when Bieber and Drake are considered talanted. What a sick world man we need more music from the 70s and 80s when it was real and life was good before the stupidity of social media.
