And another question, I see that everybody starts from sketch on canvas, then they cover canvas with masking tape, then cut out tape outside the letters, and then make background, why so? Why not to make background first, than cover it with masking tape, then draw the sketch over the tape, and then cut the letters out?
Hello! The answer to the first: using dark green POSCA when the ink is fresh you can smudge it with your finger creating this effect. The second answer: if we do the entire background first, the acrylic markers would not cover that area so well, since the painting stands out more on a white background than on a black one, that is why we leave the part of the sketch in white so that the colors of the marker stand out more
