Congratulations Eddie… there’s nothing like automating your smart home in your own home so again congratulations to my brother
Thank you so much
Very exciting stuff!!! Groovy video!
Awesome ! Thanks
Great video. Can’t wait to get into all the details of the setup.
Will surely do. Cheers
Congrats again Eddie! Amazing job and looking forward to future videos.
Awesome, thank you!
So great to see you back and the house looks beautiful! Congratulations!
Yes! Thank you!
Congratulations Eddie, excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
Congratulations on your new home. Excited to watch your future videos on setting these up!😊
Thank you!! 😊
Welcome back Eddie, congrats on the new house!!! I’m really looking forward to your home assistant intgration videos
Thank you and yes will surely looking forward to them as well
Well done Eddie see you soon with new videos 🎉 cheers ✌🏻
Awesome Eddie, great to see it’s finished and you are well underway to a great smart home life. Look forward to following your journey into Home Assistant.
Welcome aboard! And thats the plan ... Cheers
Your house looks awesome! Congratulations!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome stuff man!
Glad you liked it! Cheers
welcome to brazil man, yours videos are amazing
Thank you 🙏 and cheers 🍻
Congrats! Be welcome to our country. Keep going with the awesome content.
You’re welcome Fabio. Cheers
Super Stuff buddy.
Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers
Welcome back. The house looks amazing! Will be watching. I am especially interested to see if you have a way to limit what each family member can access/control. For example, I wouldn't want my kids to be able to accidently turn off key security accessories or safty accessories like leak sensors, etc. Can we provide limited access to family members? If so, a video on this would be great.
Steve thanks for the compliment .. Currently my kids 8 & 5 dont have any idevices but yes you can only limit accessories access via the apple home app which is under home settings > Under people > select the user and theres a toggle to allow Add / Edit accessories
Great to see you back Eddie. Congrats on the new place! Have seen many moving from Homebridge to Home Assistant. And I’ve been planning the same, but eager to see how you’ll do that. Have a new RPI 5 I plan to use but want to use Docker like I followed your version a year or more ago for homebridge.
Welcome back! And yes - i think the primary reason moving to HA was that no matter whatever happens to our iDevices - HA will run the home based on feedback and certain values ... But for now - i have the based setup and gradually moving thru ... Dont want to upset the kids and wife
Congrats on the new house; many blessings to you and your family.
I am on the same path as you with Apple HomeKit as my Smart home of choice and using HomeBridge to bring in accessories not native to HomeKit. But I will eventually move to Home Assistant as well.
Look forward to watching your journey with your new home!
Thanks! You too!
Eddie, I am a long time viewer of yours and when I saw the title of this video it did not make sense to me! I thought he already has done all this. However after watching I cannot be more excited to see what you have coming up based on your current set-up. Really really great looking home and what a smart set-up! I have build out a pool controller myself about 2 years ago and I am curious to see how yours compares/differs than mine. I was not willing to pay $1000(USD) for the name brand control panel, instead I spent about $100 and have all the same controls. It just took some thought and research and I could not be happier with it. Keep up the amazing videos, and thank you for your hard work to show us!
Top items I am especially excited to see are:
1) Pool controller
2) Water collection set-up. We do not collect water here, but I was thinking about a way for me to build out some collection barrels that connect to an automatic sprinkler system. I would need them to monitor weather conditions, fill levels, and pump automation.
3) Your new motion/presence sensors. I have been looking at the Aqara one, but I have seen a lot of Tuya options out there for 1/3 the price.
4) That 6-scene button controller looks amazing, I would like to know what that is. Very classy, clean look.
Shaun appreciate the feedback and yep it feels good to be back ... Missed the community and yeah just getting started ... I did set it up in a way the family could also get along and control them with minimal or zero assistance plus they can also tell me whats working well and not working. Started to handover the Home control to my wife - shes gets the hang of it. So going thru the exercise of creating a playbook for the home using Notion which i intend to a video also ....
1. With the pool controller - I spent around 60 dollars thats the Sonoff 4CH pro as well as LED light controller thats tuya based.
2. The water collection was something that came mid way whilst we were constructing and i still need to install the sensors. However i do have a prototype using a plastic bucket.
Well for 3 & 4 - yes i will be doing videos but still need to lock down 80% on our routines to use the sensors with scenes.
At the same time - we are looking at implementing Grocy thats on top of our food inventory and automate a list on the current stock when we do monthly groceries ...
So all in all - its a journey but at the sametime enjoying the much needed family time... Cheers
Looks like you are going to have lots of fun automating your new place. Beautiful home! Just wanted to let you know I’m in a similar new home environment with lots going on but my favorite is the Enphase HB plug in that reports out power production, Battery charge and whether the the public grid is available which provides virtual load center logic to cut back power and preserve batteries for the whole home. Need to think about what to call the system as when I ask for status of the solar system Siri gives me home stats sometimes and links to info on information in the sun other times!
Appreciate the feedback ... And yes from a distance - we do deserve a tap on the back ... Putting a smart home is one but adding in sustainability makes it more interesting and worth while as well. So far i am just reading data off the production but i found a python script that can automate devices based on the suns position as well detect the peak generation to turn on specific devices ... Still learning :)
Home assistant is such an awesome piece of software
It is. However from what i have learnt (so far) - The approach needs to be progressive and built over time ...
Eddie wooww many many congratulations
you are already enjoying your smart home
after a lot of work and dedication
it gives me a lot of pleasure
again congratulations
It was worth the time and effort in planning and construction.
from your house
well it turned out very well and bomita
my best wishes
for you and family
James
Thank you so much for wishes and the support ... Cheers
Yes Eddi is back … ❤… happy to see you again..
And in that time, we both already got some gray hair 😂😂😂
Echt gewartet ….
Probleme mit Homebrige in my Synology… so one Update kills all.
But still got the Backup.
Try to install without Docker but did not work.
( wrote this in in your video) Still need Input !
Nice HOME !
God save you and your Family and your Happy Home!
Jimmy thanks for the feedback
@@eddiedsuza Hi Eddie … still big problems with Homebridge on Synology… installed like you show in one of your excellent videos…but get always wrong IP so I can’t login…
Need feedback
@@jimmybondy1140 please access and check what IP the router has assigned to the Synology NAS ... Then reserve it as well so the device is always assigned the same information.
Happy to see you again. Congrats on your new house. Looking forward to the automation of the pool pump. Here I'm trying to find out why the camera recordings are no longer appearing in the Home app. I'm using the onvif plugin on scrypted, is it still working normally for you?
Hey Carlos ... Appreciate the feedback and yes it still works for me. You have to check your network settings to enable ONVIF ... sometimes due to network rules - the protocol gets blocked. Cheers
@@eddiedsuza It is interesting that HKSV stopped recording on all my cameras, including those that are native. Thinking of a solution that is not the reinstallation of them
Congrats on the new house. It looks great. I wonder if you would share some of your thoughts when planning for the house. Did you have a detailed concept plan even before construction started or did you just take it step by step.
I have a video in the works ... However i had a detailed plan before construction that was incorporated with the electrical plans ...
I dont mean to intrude, but what country is this in? I love the new house!
Built it in Brazil and love the feedback
Congrats! 🎉 QQ - Home do you simultaneously run Home Assistant and Home Bridge?
Well I am currently running each of them on a dedicated Pi 4 n 5
@@eddiedsuza Oh, okay. I've seen setups where HB is ran on a HA Pi using Docker add-ons. I'm planning to try it out whenever I have more time on my hands. :) Heads-up to you as well, if you want to repurpose one of the Pis. Thanks!
@danielgospodinow I did do a video hosting HB and HA thru docker containers using a pi 5
@@danielgospodinow thanks for the tip ... However I am starting to take a look into Dakboard to build a dashboard for our home office and see how I can integrate and HA into it
@@eddiedsuza Wow, nice! Sounds cool. Good luck and I'm looking forward to a video that explains this. :)
Why is everyone congratulating a millionaire on a new house???🤔
Trying to be a millionaire 😅
Totally agree with you. It’s a memory that will pass on from us to our kids.
