Ay guys, welcome back to another episode..
In this video I'm giving you a rundown on how and why I've chosen to use alloy boxes as my sleeping arrangements while living on the road.
If you feel like ive missed something, please feel free to leave a comment below and ill get back to ya. Anyways I hope ya's enjoy.
cheers ay
Love your set up Dale, always wondered how your sleeping arrangements were, looks easy and practical and like you say at the end of the day you just want to stop and sleep.
Hello Amanda, you should have come over that time at Wanjunga and had a look. :)
Best part about it is when on the road, you can just open up and jump in.
Hope you’s are doing well over your way.
Absolutely brilliant. See too many people just doing generic setups, all yours are actually thought out and what you actually need. Brilliant mate👏🍺
Would be cool to see a run down of what tool kit set up you use.
Cheers
Cheers man, gives me more ideas for different videos.
good job mate looks comfy i love seeing other people's set ups for what you do im sure its a far cry from when you started im enjoying seeing how you have up graded over the years it just keeps getting better stay normal and love and cheers and beers from griffo and kez in queensland
Ay guys, im pretty stoked with how fare iv come over the years as well. So thanks for the support mate, good to hear someone else say that as well. Take care guys
Great set up mate.
Thank mate.
For aircon we use icepack in our trucks. It runs off diesel engine small compact. They are called icepack
Great simple setup. For me I’d have to a window in one of the doors. I need to be able to see out.
Cheers Peter, it’s pretty endless how you can set something like this up to suit.
I avoided windows in both the bedroom and front box pretty much to make it all weather proof. More so hail. I can shut up know I’m pretty safe.
Good thing!
Cant think of a better idea for full timing without a van, id be happydays in there too!
That’s the one. Good bed goes a long way.
Lovely sleeper box
Brilliant set-up. You have really tested this application. I believe this is one of the better set-ups I've seen for money reliability and practical use. That is my style of living.
Cheers mate. Been a good 10 years of testing this way and it suits me to a t and I’m sure a lot more others would like it as well.
Great work Dale , when are you getting more vol 2 cook books in . I missed out.
Thanks Mark, I’ve just ordered More yesterday.. just not sure when they will arrive, but I’ll mention it in a video when they arrive. Cheers for the support as well ay.
wicked ! Go the Patrol! what a great setup u got everything u need ! 📹🛻😎🤙
I like the mobile Antenna setup! 📡
Thanks Brento, I do like my patrols :)
After making this video I’ve recently got Starlink, so I can get ride of some antennas now.
@@Thecampman_Camping-Australia I'd keep them as backups ! 📡 very good antennas still coz ull need a voip for calls thru wifi as starlink is only data right ?
I’ll keep the Cel-fi booster for awhile just for when I’m on the road and not having to set up the SL over night. But I can wifi call from Starlink so that’s all good.
Love sleeping in my box fantastic idea , good advice about the locks always worrying about that but not any more cheers 👍
Crack the door lock to keep air flow and lock it in ... brilliant
Like being in a proper room ay mate.
@@Thecampman_Camping-Australia got a snap lock and a chain on the door if someone tries to open it hopefully I hear it first, it can only be opened about 10cm before it makes noise
Always interesting to see how you do things mate. Look forward to the next Vid. Tight Lines.
Cheers AK
I just came across your channel, & I’ve watched every single video.
I used to live in Darwin now live in Cairns so know a lot of places you travel to.
I’ve now subscribed, & totally love what you do 👍👍
Welcome aboard man, and cheers for the support.. Its a nice place over hear ay, Cairns is a good place too, got an uncle over that way I catch up a bit with.
Tremendous set up. I’m in a soft floor and understand fully what you are saying about not packing up wet
Thanks mate. Yeah it wasn’t the best thing for me the soft floor. But we learn as we go along what works and what don’t.
Spot on sport . 😁
Cheers
Thanks mate for the run down, it's something I've been trying to look to build. Can't find the trailer I want similar yours though. Again brother, thanks for the ideas👍🤙
No worries man, best thing I can say, is take your time with it. Try not to rush just to have it done yesterday, it will take you longer in than long run than. Another bit of advice, make sure when your doors open up, you can walk under them. So the hight of your trailer/box should thought about a bit. Nothing more shit than having to duck all the time ha.
@@Thecampman_Camping-Australia That's great advice mate, didn't think about height of doors.
If anytime soon your selling your trailer, let us know mate lol, save me building one🥃🤙
Haha, that be like selling me house. I said after putting this one together, I won’t be doing another one lol.
@@Thecampman_Camping-Australia Definitely done a great job with it man. If my one turns out half as good as yours, I'll be happy man.
I’m impressed mate what a setup, luving these videos on your how ya do it or done it, all the best Olemate 🇦🇺
Full of surprises mate ay 😊
Nice setup mate.
We live in a rural area and have recently got Starlink and it's amazing!
Will definitely be getting a mobile Starlink setup when we hit the road full time.
I remember awhile ago when you did a similar video on your bed. Personally I don't think you could get a better set up unless you were to get a small caravan. In other words this truck cab style bunk is just the bee's knee's.
By the way, don't justify having an A/C by saying you don't use it often. I think you should use it every night if that's what makes you comfortable, every other bugger has an A/C in their home, so should you. 🍻
Yeah man, I wanted some comforts of a van, but same time needed to be able to get to as many places as possible.. So this is what I come up with and definitely suits my needs. Ha, yeah im hearing ya, but many are quick to point the finger.. And if I could run it most nights I probably would, but she's a bit power hungry so I only use it on them real bad nights.
Handy to know good brands.... because honestly, I'm happy to run an AC any chance I can get. Buggar the haters. Comfort is where it's at.
Great setup. Have you considered straight walls and not tapered. Gives a lot more space. Cheers.
probably due to trying to save every gram of weight possible it was a consideration.
It would only give more room if I wanted to sit up right on the ends. But I’m more so sitting up in the middle, it’s high enough at the ends so my head don’t hit it either.
And like the comment below, it did save me a good bit of weight and a bit more wind flow for the fuel economy.
enjoyed that one mate, always interesting to see the different setup's that people come up with, cheers
Good to know mate, thank you. I to like seeing different ways people do things. Always learning in life.
one thing that came to mind after watching again mate - I'm no tech wizard so what's the difference between the CellFi phone booster and the Cellferrno WiFi???
Sorry mate, after I did the video I new I should have explained that one a bit better coz they sound the same.
Cel-Fi boost, the single on your person phone device.
Cellferno, takes a data sim and gives you access to wifi to your devices.
Similar to how the RV wifi units work but a lot better.
After doing this video I ended up getting the Starlink, so now I can make do with out the Cellferno device.
thanks mate, will be interested to see how Starlink goes.
I think it's Karstin and Maxine in the VW van j ust rolled out their starlink about 6 wks ago. They had a few issues with initial hook up but seem to be ok now, did full episode on hook up.
Just after making this video I ended up getting Starlink my self. And it’s not Australian wide coverage. I’m happy with it so far my self, all up and running as well. Been waiting many years for this moment ha.
Amazing set up. You briefly mentioned StarLink. It’s currently half price for the hardware until Dec 31st. ($450 now)
Just ordered one myself…
I bought a 32' travel lodge trailer. It's not in the best shape inside but I'm going to fix that!
Nice one man, you'll have to show us some pictures when she's done.
You really have thought of everything hey Brother. Bloody good set up.
Another cracka episode ✌️🍻
Thanks bro, I’ve had enough time to do homework over the years haha.
@@Thecampman_Camping-Australia you certainly have 😂😂
Mate it's an amazing setup, only thing I see wrong is you don't have the Jimmy flag up 😂
haha, bro I hade that flag for ages and was sad to see them go. You'll have to find me another one. 😉
Fantastic setup Dale. Who made the big alloy sleeping box?
How good is that just pull up open a door and slide into bed.... perfect 👌
Keeping it simple but efficient for all that comes my way mate.
Nice set up. Very practical. I like the fact it is not a rooftop setup with ladders, ladders just become a hazard after a few beverages. Do you have a fly screen set up or just use the mozzie zapper?
Thanks Craig, wanted to make it as easy as possible to set up while on the road.
No fly screen, If they are that bad I can shut back door and zip up the front. Other than just I just run coils, spray, or fans can help.
@@Thecampman_Camping-Australia keep on tracking and keep the content coming. Cheers 🍻
Awesome set up brother , can I ask what you do for work? Besides living the dream 👌
Cheers man.. Long story short ill just put up this link to a video that will answer questions. ruclips.net/video/ss_4V4Jurfw/видео.html
Awesome Ep and set up big fellow, I see Starlink is working all over Aus now.
Guess what I got me self the other day mate ;) currently set up now. Handy bit of gear to have. I actually got it after making this video.
@@Thecampman_Camping-Australia Nice work
How heavy is your trailer loaded with quad. ? An how the patrol go towing it ?
What brand is the aircon unit mate ?
Starlink have a special on $450 plus $170 per month
About a week after making this video I went out and got Starlink. Currently hooked up and using it now :)
Cost of buildinga box?
Off the top of me head I think it was around 4k just for the box. Than I just added to it as I went.
@@Thecampman_Camping-Australia whold you sell and build new one
