  • Clarence “Frogman” Henry passed away this week at the age of 87. Best known for his 1957 song “Ain’t Got No Home” which earned him the moniker “Frogman”, he was a legend of New Orleans rhythm and blues. Frogman’s biggest charting Top 5 hit was “I Don’t Know Why I Love You But I Do” from 1961. A few years later in 1964 a group called the Beatles asked Frogman to be their opening act on their 1964 North American Tour. This is a video I shot from the 2011 Ponderosa Stomp in New Orleans where Frogman is singing his biggest chart topper. RIP Frogman. #neworleans #rhythmandblues #shagdancemusic #clarencefrogmanhenry #frogmanhenry #argolabel ‪@ponderosastomp2222‬
