The only ones who killed the team spirit were those two, Gallagher as the captain clearly gave the ball to Palmer. They needed to accept that, and to be fair, Madueke did - but Jackson didn't.

The role of a dedicated penalty taker is to take the penalty when the situation is absolutely necessary but here Palmer has already scored a hat-trick so this last Penalty was in no way an obligation under this rule. And the goal is for the players to feel confident, Noni should have taken this penalty and Palmer should have given it to him like a real leader.

When Chelsea got the penalty while they were down 3-2 against united, neither of them got even close to asking to take it, they weren't confident enough there, but on a 4-0 game they feel big enough to ask your most important player (well 'ask', they were demanding) to give up the pen while he's competing for the golden boot. Also, it would've been SOOOOO MUCH DIFFERENT if instead of demanding for it, they got to Palmer, check on his condition and then ask if they could take it since you know, it's Palmer's decision to make, not theirs.

This is exactly why we've had a shitty season this year. No team spirt, no cohesion, it almost looked like Jackson was hoping for Palmer to miss the pen. Playing like individuals and not a TEAM, is what has caused us to languish as a mid-table team this season. These kinds of players are harmful to the club and need to be moved out ASAP.

Absolutely fantastic game and performance, but this part here made me embarrassed to be a Chelsea fan. Two grown men arguing and trying to snatch the ball like a couple of 5 year olds. Grow up!!! Firstly, PALMER IS THE PENALTY TAKER! Unless he is off then he takes every penalty no matter what the score is. Secondly, IT DOESNT MATTER WHO TAKES THE PENALTY!!! What matters is the score ticking over on the scoreboard, it is a TEAM game, not about individuals. Lastly, Jackson, I was critical of him at first but I think he has really improved this season but that was shocking of him being all salty because he didn’t take it. Grow up, and be proud of your team!!!

First off, what is Noni doing by hugging the ball insisting he'll take the pen when our Pen taker is on the pitch. If he really wanted to take it he should have had a word with Palmer and if he says yes fine if he says no let it go. Palmer is the designated penalty taker whether he has scored 10 before the Pen or not. Jackson backing Noni up and refusing to celebrate with Palner was just embarrassing and not Chelsea like at all. POCH needs to talk some sense into these lads
I agree on the second point, gotta celebrate and let it go. I’m not mad at noni though, he earns most of our pens (getting fouled) and is our best true winger. If Palmer eats great, but if both eat we will be dominant

I feel like if the penalty taker says he is not giving it to you, that's it. But I see why Mads wanted to take it (because he won the penalty) and why Jackson was furious (because Palmer already had 3 goals). But the drama was uncalled for and unprofessional in my opinion.
