A poison bow might benefit from that more since poison status is part of your damage output. But that delays a fraction of a second to start the next charge. Especially for monsters that aren't weak to poison, I think skipping it and going straight into a charge might be slightly more advantageous. Thank you for recording all 13 fights. I really enjoyed your gameplay. Also if you have that habit from world, that quick shot was part of stamina recovery. In now, it doesn't make any difference.
Yeah, the little spread shot after a roll was only to maintain burst but it is a dps loss, though a minor one. I’ve since corrected that mistake but appreciate the constructive feedback!

That's very cool. Bow is getting nerfed. But perfect evade will bring up charge levels by 2. So now I wonder if it's better to get to a charge level 2, then perfect evade to go straight to level 4.
@@MH.Speedcrawler yeah, I think the scariest part of the new update is bow’s damage to non-weak spots. We don’t know yet but, if the penalty is huge, it could really hurt some match-ups for spread and Pierce bows. It seems like the +2 charge level situation is generally going to be a buff, critical range damage drop off could be really bad as well depending on what the values end up being. And if you notice for those Jageas roll pdodges, when I timed them correctly, I was shooting a C4+PS, rolling, pdodging into a C4. That’s a tech we really figured out in the discord, called PDC4 (perfect dodge charge 4). I can explain it further if you’d like, basically you can get an instant C4 if you pdodge out of a C4. You can extend the window to get the instant C4 by never going into idle frames through rolling, which is what happens in those Jagras moments (you can see it vs Barroth’s charge attack as well)

Some match-ups are definitely harder, Barroth being an example. Because the Hit Zone Values (HZV's) for non-weakpoints all suffered at least an 18% damage reduction, being precise with your aiming is now more important than before. I might do a follow-up vid to this, attempting to clear all the 8stars with 7-5 Pukei Bow again. I'm almost done with the post-patch 9stars using Bblos Bow vid so stay tuned for that soon :]
Any updates to ur build when the recent balance changes hit? will you build any of the new sets? will you focus on the weaker parts of the monster more often?
depending on how bad the non-weakpoint damage nerf is, some match ups for spread bow could be rougher for pukei bow, none of the new armors seem to really affect the playstyle and yeah should always be aiming at the weaker spots, even pre-nerf. i mess up a lot in this vid tho aha

@@freddyhutapea7246 yeah the timing is tricky, a cool trick is that you can start to the side and perfect dodge his little hand on his wing even though it wouldn't have hit you if you watch the bblos vid I posted, you can see me perfect dodge his little hand while safe from his charge attack

@@AkamuLive there were definitely a lot of deaths before i was able to complete some of these runs aha, they're def not a representation of what is always possible. some runs need poison rng for sure like diablos
@@xunsungwar77 nope! just natural part of the bow, it's optimal dps to go to charge 4 (three rings closing) then power shot on most bows (only black diablos bow and pink rathian bow are the exception)

on paper yeah Burst 2 = 10% damage which is 87.1 damage on 7-5 Pukei bow (871 raw) even though we have bblos gloves now that open up other slot armor rotations, if we look at the options we have nothing compares to that 10% damage option except maybe diablos helm but that requires 29% or lower hp to activate
Just realized the power and versatility of that bow sometime ago and I must say I'm satisfied with the results. I'm currently at Grade 7/2. Was able to proc poison twice every hunt. I'm thinking if I can make it thrice if I try poison attack lvl5 with Focus lvl3
yeah, this isn't normally recommended though. If you were to look at mhn(dot)quest and see how much damage a third poison proc does against a monsters, you'd have to weigh that against the dps you could manually do using just focus and burst. A third poison proc does a ton of damage at the 9 and 10 star monster level but is wholly unnecessary vs 8star and lower monsters
@@shindenxxxx It actually doesn't scale based on their HP! Poison damage is determined by the monster's star level and their resistance/neutrality/vulnerability to poison. It's a dumb distinction to make but I only like to clarify that so people understand how poison works in multiplayer, where a monster has huge amounts more hp depending on the number of players yet poison damage doesn't scale

@@alpacino4498 huge huge huge tip is to use mhn(dot)quest's map function to check your biomes- you have to tweak the map until it fits your surrounding biomes- and plan routes that mostly/only hit desert biomes!

@@ArchangelosMHN bblos bow is going to be limited by the monsters inaccessibility, since it is only an event monster. I probably wouldn't invest too much into that weapon unless you already farmed bblos a good chunk last weekend and could top it off with some more farming this weekend. Rathian Bow is a good bow in some niche match-ups vs poison weak monsters. It suffers a lot vs poison resistant monsters (pukei, rathalos, rathian). Pukei is the best option for most people. Pukei spawns in all 3 biomes, and upgrading that bow is a lot easier than upgrading any of the other options. It also has higher raw than rathian and benefits more from Burst

I just unlocked diablo bow and both pukei and diablo bow are 5/5 what should i use?

Pukei mail does the exact same thing! Pink rath is just for swag aha, they both just give one point of Focus

after your charge u attack twice very quickly. how are u doing that? i don understand
it's called a powershot, you tap the screen after a charge shot to do a bonus shot that does roughly 50% the damage of your charged shot

I would love to use bow more often if the darn gyro didn't drift on me here and there.
