  • This is how I built my Walle Drivetrain. This is a full metal build using #60 attachment chain which makes it very durable.

This was a rare gem to find within the terrain of RUclips. I imagine the insight you've offered here is more valuable than you may realize. I am currently creating a WALL- E for my family, and I find your shared experience to be informative, insightful, and quite inspirational. The time you took to create this was worth it. Thank you.

You are a gifted person, I love seeing how you have got around some very complicated problems, sometimes with such simple solutions. Your models are just amazing. Thanks for sharing.

The squeaking of the chassis when it moves, adds to the realism of Wall-e’s animation. Nice work! Well thought out construction and troubleshooting.

I’m 50/50 whether this makes me depressed about my potential, or inspired because of your achievements. Thanks for the video

Thanks Mike! Very, Very, Very Informative. Following the Wall-E Facebook group based of what you and McMaster did. Top Notch!

I'm so excited to find your channel and see you're still talking about your Wall-E. I was recently inspired to build my own Wall-E (not life sized since I live in an apartment :P). Then I found that you had built one already, which inspired me a ton. I don't understand how to use the Yahoo group (tried requesting membership but not sure how active that group is anymore). I was really hoping I could see some blueprints or any design notes you had that I could draw some inspiration in building my own.
This video was really helpful as I'm still in the design/planning phase with a couple of random prototypes being 3D printed here and there. One thing in particular I'm trying to figure out is how to do the arms. I've been prototyping a way to have the arms slide along the side of him, but doing so makes it hard to actually move the arm around. So I'd be curious to see how you moved his arms around to see if I can join that into my prototyped ideas.
Your work is really inspirational and I hope to hear back. Thanks!

I plan to do more videos on Walle in the near future. Meanwhile, you can join the Walle Builders FaceBook group.

Hi Mike, I really love your projects by the way! I was wandering if you could make some files of your Wall-E for 3D printing? I know it was a lengthy process figuring out the scales & proportion of parts & that's why I think it would be great for us viewers to be able to 3D print an accurate model of our favourite robot. Don't worry if not, but thanks anyway for your Wall-E tutorials. Maybe we could have the sounds that you've used as well?

I am curious as to what the actual rubber treads are made of??? (i.e. cut up tire?)

We molded a master tread and poured a two part urethane with black pigment.

Would you ever consider making some build videos something that could help the newbs get more acquainted. I would happily donate my time to assist with filming and editing. I myself will be starting my ownbuilds soon I hope and I think some basic electrical, mechanical, design tutorials would be so vital to new or experienced builders. Even troubleshooting assistance. I can't wait to dive to this communitty and meet all the amazing minds and fellow builders. Thank you for inspiring us. I was serious about helping if you ever desire producing HiDef technical short tutorials.
